Software Enginering discipline

  • How many of you have actual made study of software enginering discipline?

I have read Roger Presman's book on Principals of Software Enginering. It is a good book, but hardly see any practical usage in Industry.
Are things different in other countries?

  •  In the West, Software Enginering discipline is always coupled with Software Enginering bondage.

Bonded labour is illegal in India. Company sometime make student sign training bond, but that is also determine as illegal.

How come west civilisation follow this old practice of bondage?

  • It's in our blood. Western corruption and all that.

  • People in the West love bondage.

  • Discourse touched me in a no-no place

I'm sure a google images search for that term would make your question redundant...

I heard Abraham Lincoln freed all slaves. So is this bondage legal?

  • Yes - just not as profitable, thanks to that interfering kid Lincoln.

Lincoln didn't have the authority.  What Lincoln did was more of an attempt to hurt the rebel states economically and reduce their morale.

Congress and the Senate had to pass the 13th amendment in order to free all of the slaves.

It's traditional.  And tradition builds character.

  • And character builds responsibility, and responsibility power, and power the Force, and the Force wisdom, and wisdom courage, and courage - HEY! LISTEN! We gotta get over to Death Mountain and stop Ganondorf!

I see you don't know the difference between "pass" and "ratify".

OK, since we're going full pedantic dickweed, I see you don't understand that the Senate is actually one half of the Congress. Also, you don't understand that Congress does not "pass" amendments, it proposes them to the states, which ratify (or not) the proposed amendment. Of course, the states can call a convention and avoid Congress' involvement in the amendment process altogether.

Indeed. And for background, Nagesh, we're discussing Article V of the U.S. Constitution, which defines the process for amending the Constitution.

Depends on if you mean in terms of political power or number of legislators. If the latter, it's slightly less than one-fifth...

True, but they've also got one half of the elected part of the executive branch.

    The circle is now complete.
