Very helpfull Outlook...

  • I have a temporary reception duty at my job and needed to book some conference rooms. Afterwards I noticed a "Details" radio button, and wondered what it would do.

Well, this is the medium view:

Which is pretty, pretty bare-bones... So what would the "low detail" view show?

Thank you Outlook, for providing me an option to show an empty shedule...

  • Are you sure it's empty and not just white on white? Like [this]?

  • Maybe it's showing only high-priority meetings?

  • Just checked this myself, and here's the tooltip for Low Detail Monthly View (via Outlook 2010):

"Show only all day events in the monthly view."

Medium view gives you the free/busy regions with no event details (and category coloring if you have that on any of the events), and high detail gives you the list of what events are on your calendar and what time they are at on that day.

That explains it, but there is no such tooltip in my Outlook version (Dutch Outlook 2007)

Also excuse me for the horrendous typo in the typo. I'm on a Citrix IE7 here without spellcheck.

I thought you were just using the British pronunciation.

The English spelling is still schedule...

Only schedule as in schadenfreude, not schedule as in school

Yes, but note also that dtech first mentioned the typo. Besides that, in England it can still be pronounced with the hard 'c', so assuming the missing 'c' on the typo was an intentional attempt at spelling it phonetically, then it missed the mark for about half the people I know who use the word. I think it was a joke, I was just pointing out to anyone who wasn't aware of the English spelling, as American English can be subtly different with things like this.

  • Let's spend another 36 posts analyzing what was obviously a silly joke based on a typo.

  • Excellent suggestion, I'll start proceedings with a correction:
