Linkedin and Asian Programmers (Indian and Pakistani)

  • Is it just me or indian and pakistani programmers found on Linkedin still haven't heard of Google or even bothered to look up MSDN or the correct version of Javadocs in other to solve most of their problems? Most of the questions asked are already answered in a plethora of forums worldwide...

Maybe they prefer a "Thank you, come again" approach from Google, i don't know... but what i do know is: Learn how to use searching tools (books, search engines, Developer Networks and Documentation from the technologies that you are currently using)!

And another thing, for those of you out there that use Linkedin... How many of you have noticed that most female users have pictures that say "Do me!" instead of "Hire me!"? Huh?

They like stay active. So when HR people pull up profile, they notice -"here is one person who is curious". I blame HR people for this.

They look up activity on facebook and linkedin. if you are seek employment, where will you show more activity?

Stackoverflow.  Also for the SQL Server we have the #sqlhelp hashtag, and an endless sea of user groups.  If someone isn't active linkedin, they may be active elsewhere and I want to see that.  Are you passionate about what you do and part of the community?

Seeking for technical information on Linkedin speaks against you. Seeking for information in appropriate places like StackOverflow and ServerFault, where you can actually talk to many people who are good at what they do, and where technical discussions are better organized, is a much better way to learn.

And if you want to show some activity that might interest HR people, develop something and showcase it in a personal site, or share with others in places like Github. If all you have to show is a string of questions made in the wrong place, you're not making a good impression anywhere.

Spammers love to believe LinkedIn is instagram for sluts.

    For instance:

@Tsaukpaetra couldn't you have waited another 2 years?

    Also

    LinkedIn is Instagram for sluts
    Instagram is LinkedIn for sluts

Your mutually recursive definition is lacking a base case. 🏆
