Needs more automatically-playing music, little guys with a shovel gifs, sparkle-trailed mouse cursors, /cgi/ in the URI and way, way, way more HTML-resized pics (the few there are in there now, are by far not enough)

And so a web page that looks like someone's uncle Bob knocked it up in the garage one afternoon in 1993 may be part of a very carefully crafted image strategy...

One Nation is a fairly far right nationalistic political party, with strong views on (anti)immigration. They attracted quite a bit of attention about a decade ago, but became the laughing stock of the Australia (in part due to the ignorant and uninformed leader) and have vanished into obscurity.

I didn't even notice the two 10MB photos. Good thing I didn't load this up on my phone... looking at crappy political part websites is quite possibly the stupidest way to burn through a data cap.

I actually saw that used in a "web 2.0" application properly. The app had a sort of initialization cycle and it used blinking text to indicate which item on the list it was processing at that moment. Looked pretty neat actually.

Ah, but did they use the blink tag/style, or did they just use a timer and javascript to toggle visible?
