How Can I Tell If There"s A Key Logger on My Computer

  • Any clue will help me.

  • ♿ (Parody)

You might have a keylogger if...

    • Your bank account is inexplicably empty
    • You cannot log into your email account
    • Unusually trollish posts show up on TDWTF under your username

Maybe he just had a keylogger on his computer all along.

Good luck if you're a victim of hardware keylogging.

  • On the topic of keylogging, how secure are Bluetooth keyboards?

I noticed my investment banker using one, how hard would it be for someone to setup, for example, a snooping device trough the wall to the outside about 10 feet away and collect sensitive information?

Impossible, improbable, or trivial? (I'm moving out of that bank anyway)

All bluetooth stroke being eNcrypted, you have no reason to worry.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I've read news about BT connections being snooped before. And even if the protocol is secure enough, there's always the possibility that someone will pair the keyboard up to another computer while you're not looking. I've done it before, for kicks, and it always took people a few moments before they noticed it. Imagine some asshole doing that not for a prank, but in order to capture passwords. All it takes is a little social engineering.

BTW Nagesh, you can always format your hard drives. That way you'll be sure there's no keylogger in them.

You'll also be sure all your data and applications won't be "in them".

It's too bad it's almost impossible to wipe clean the brains of inept computer programmers and allow them to start over as productive citizens.

if you are willing to relax the requirements (productive), there is always lobotomy ...
