...and here i was, looking forward to a nice long evening read.

  • Today I was chatting with a (presumed) girl from IT and:

She: Hey do you know how to update the AV?

    Me: Well, which one?

    She: This one

Me: Ok, what is the name of the AV?

She: The one on my computer.

    Me: *facepalm

I'm supposed to have remote sight?

  • Dude! You forgot to anonymize your username on the screeshot!

UPDATE: aaaannd once again, it turns out I'm (err, the code I wrote) is TRWTF and once again null'd the article on publishing. And guess who didn't store the original. I'm on a very short layover, and the bush-leauge planes I'm on don't have WiFi; so expect a (re-done) update when I land. It was a fun collection, too

The Real WTF is actually expecting CS to not fuck-up, and trusting it with your only copy of something.

That's why I copy each of my comments to a text file on my desktop: because I can't trust CS with the only copy.

Likewise; I copy everything into Notepad before hitting submit. Even SpectateSwamp takes that precaution!

  • The comments are TRWTF (161 and counting).

Why would Counter Strike do such a thing?

I don't think the front page is actually CS.  I think that's home-rolled by Alex.

Well whatever, trusting a computer is a bad decision. They love to lose your data, and ruin your life, and then laugh about it during their secret computer meetings.

I just hit Ctrl-A Ctrl-C and go on with a volatile copy in the clipboard.  BECAUSE I LIKE LIVING ON THE EDGE!  YEAH!!

Brice Richards casts "The clipboard belongs to me."  It's super effective!  DaveK's post fainted.

Okay maybe that sounded funnier in my head.

Anti Virus, for other things AV could mean http://www.acronymsearch.com/index.php (my favorite is Artificial Vagina)

Nahh, everybody knows how to update an artificial vagina (same as a natural one: either get a new one or fix it with a specialist)
