Double click rename file

  • Don't know if anyone else does this, but I find double clicking to rename a file in Windows faster than using the right click context menu

I just move the mouse a little (about 10 pixels or so will do it...not that I'm counting them every time) in between the first and second click and it counts as two single clicks - can't find anything about anyone else doing this on the net so just thought I'd post it here in case anyone found it useful

Might save you a whole hour of time if you add up all the time spent trying to find rename on the context menu (unless of course you are using keyboard shortcuts)

  •  Real users use F2, obviously.

Real users are in the correct $PWD and just do "mv xx<tab> yy".

  • 🚽 Regular

Real users never need to rename files because they always get it right the first time.

    Keybd shortcuts are very fast.

As you said, that's not double clicking, that's clicking twice with single clicks. You can adjust the time it takes for another click to count in the control panel, and you don't have to move the cursor away to make it count if you click on the name.

And even better than using F2 (or rename.exe on the prompt, or clicking on the name under the icon, or using the context menu) is having an intern do it for you.

  • Real users don't even use files, they store everything in a database as a VARBINARY. (Am I doing this lame-ass joke right?)

Well, you're doing a lame joke.  It might not be the joke you want, but it is a lame joke.

Real users have to fix the fuck-ups of the non-real users! Non-real users often get the file names wrong, real users have to fix them.
