Confusing Second Life ad campaign

So... you can "become your avatar." And there's a photo of the woman, and a screenshot of her avatar, and they look quite similar but... but those are two different people! So... what the hell is the message here?

That Second Life is made of fail and "people" who use it are idiots?

Or are they?
DUN DUN DUUUUUUUN!
No seriously. I don't know much about SL, but from the ad I'd have guessed Terces Anatine is Christine's in-game name, and she's International VP of the in-game company "Live World Media" or some shit.
What concerns me more is that the top picture (it's a photo right??) looked like a 3D model on first glance.

The message is exactly that: become someone else in Second Life. The top picture and name is the real person, but the bottom picture and name are those of her Second Life avater. Obviously, she isn't using her real name and job title in Second Life. What good would a Second Life be if it was just the same as your First Life?
I'm still waiting for someone to make a Third Life inside Second Life though.

Yo dawg, we heard you like life...

So you're saying that if this woman got to pick out her own name, she would pick "Terces Anatine"? I find that very hard to believe!

I know almost nothing about the game, but the one thing i do know is that you don't get free text entry for your last name, you have to pick from a list.

Crimson Alliance puts a real store in your fake store so you can shop while you shop!

Obligatory if predictable.

"Become your Avatar"....IT actually works! I created a fantastic avatar (if I do say so myself), and with the Sedond Life promised capability, I actually became identical to the avatar in real life!
-
Du-uu-uh. She propped a mirror up in front of her by the screen when she created the avatar. Wake up at the back, you dozy lot.
-
Just be glad you don't turn into your own avatar here.

That would be messy. Well, at least I'd be able to measure stuff better.

FWIW, "Terces" is a palindrome of "secret". However, since "enitana" isn't anything and "Anatine's" most interesting anagram is Tea Inn, I don't know what she (or whoever created that name) was going for. Unless it was the anagram of "Terces Anatine": Nice Anteaters.
Meh
Terces Anatine

Is it just me or does the "Real Life" photo look like it's from a PC game too? (Albeit one with better graphics, but not exactly "real life".)
"Third Life" probably looks like it was done on a N64.
Well, now back to my Zeroth life.

No, that's what I thought, too. (See my post above. Though I might have expressed it weirdly. Probably was tired)

If your name is Gordon Freeman, does that make Second Life equal to real life?

Only about half of the time.
