Vampire Attack

Not software related, but my first reaction was "WTF?" after reading the first two sentences of this article.
"ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Police say a woman told a 69-year-old St. Petersburg man she was a vampire before biting off chunks of his face and part of his lip.Milton Ellis told police Thursday he was sleeping in his motorized wheelchair on the porch of a vacant Hooters when the attack happened."Sorry if this doesn't belong in the Side Bar.

The worst part is that as someone who's currently living in Florida, I'm not that surprised by the whole thing. Heck, like 10% of News of the Weird stories are from here.

You obviously don't read Fark. Florida is the only state with its own tag for a very very good reason.
BTW, The European version of Florida is Germany. Adam Carolla used to have a great bit called "Germany or Florida?" where he'd read a crazy-ass news story and callers had to guess where it was from.

Hmm, I don't know. I've found that Texas and California are more wacky than Florida when it comes to oddball stories. Georgia, too.
Many of the oddball stories I've seen out of Florida come from tourists. Tourists from Texas, California, and Georgia no doubt.
