Choose your own card chose wrong
-
I've had a "Choose your own card" for a while - my own photo on my visa card. This was before my son was born so I used a photo of my dog (in my own back yard):
Isn't she happy?
However, due to all the Anonymous (et.al) attacks they have decided to reissue all cards. They sent a letter with a different card (different account) that has barely been used, and was a month off expiring anyway - but no notification regarding this card.
This is what I got in the mail this week:
My wife rang them to complain the chip covering the dog and they said "the chip is on the site when you position the picture". Well, it wasn't in 2009!

Did you really expect them to
1) never change the layout of card
2) check issued card by hand to see if they "look" good
3) exchange it?
I bet they get such stupid complains every day...
-
TRWTF is not having chip and pin in 2009. Sorry i mean Personal PIN Number :)

Well it does cost $10 to have this feature, so they could have handled it better. Like, warn us that the layout has changed and let us re-submit our layout. Even just mirroring the picture would have made it usable. My original card still has more than a year until expiry, so they've taken that off me.

Maybe we could shorten that to PPINN? Seems much more convenient!

But then the card would show your dog's evil twin.
Edit: Pictured below
-
I expect they are producing all cards with a chip now, and anyway, the chip needs to be in a certain position so you can put your card into a reader - I highly doubt your picture will make them change where it is placed!
-
Granted, they could have left the company logo in the original position and it wouldn't have been as bad, but c'mon man, haven't you trained your dog? Just tell her to walk to the other side of the card and SIT. Use a piece of chicken liver if you have to.
-
Also, what happened to wooden tables recently? Those are photographs of the CCs, aren't they?

I agree. Let's risk giving Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease to a dog just so it makes a good picture.
-
-
Oh man, that's hilarious.

-
Chickens can't carry CJD? We have chicken livers on sale and pate over here... don't think they'd allow sale of it if it was dangerous.

If you're paying money for it, you could insist on them sending you new cards with an updated design, and waive next year's fee in appreciation of the unpleasantness their inability to secure their network has caused you.

And here we go all over again.

Someone should run to the nearest patent office and register this concept for fractal memes.

I'd hear that.

You win the internet.
Someone should produce this album.
-
Could we rename the bonus track to "The whole CD again, including this track"?
-
@Lorne Kates said:
That's actually really special.

Yes. And what is actually on the CD is the sound of a CD tray ejecting and retracting, constantly for 74 minutes.

I meant actual musics. :\
Because it would, be amusing, or something , i dunno

I picture ATL sounding somewhat like The Joker And The Thief, and Blakeyrant sounding like... well anything Slayer's ever done.

Make one, take it to the grocery store, and buy something with it.

That may be the best thing I've seen on this forum. You indeed win the internet, and also milnet as your useless bonus.

Yup, totally should be made; and I'm pretty sure there's a bunch of amateur or less-amateur musicians here.

Nooooo, definitely that kind of metal that has full orchestra's backing.

Needs more lyrics, for example:
First you gotta make a flyer
and print it on your HP
put it down on your table
and photograph it digitally
go on and print the picture
then scan the whole thing in again
lastly, upload to your website
and display it inside a frameHail the wooden table, it goes with everything
hail the wooden table...If you want to look professional
the table is the way to go
and if you don't have another skill
it surely will steal the show
so if you need design ideas
don't think too hard about it
just print out what you have now
the table will do the restHail the wooden table, it goes with everything
hail the wooden table...And if one day you're lonely
there's one thing you can do
because your wooden table
will always be there for you
remember, it's your bestest friend
it will never let you down
so put it in a special place
and decorate it with a crownHail the wooden table, it goes with everything
hail the wooden table...

Guitar+POD multi effects+Pitch shifter+DIY tremolo+DIY distortion+Crybaby WahOn the off-chance that this actually happens:
Guitar + Peavey ValveKing + Crybaby + MXR Phase 90 + Boss DD-3 Digital Delay.
Oh, and a cheaper Roland electric drumset.
And a pair of Shure SM-57's with the required interface to plug them into a PC for recording.

lol that's awesome, hope it's not too echo-ey in there.
I always wanted a 5150, that is until I played a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier at a music store. Unfortunately both are too expensive for me right now.
