It's finally happened...

  • I can no longer pretend I do not work in IT.

I was at my girlfriend's house last night and slept over. I brought my work clothes, including black socks, but I forgot about work shoes. My commute would be increased by thirty minutes if I were to drive from her apartment to mine and then off to work, so I didn't want to go back to get them. I decided I would just wear the footwear I brought: sandals. Sandals, covering black socks, covering my feet. With business clothes above them.

The combination is quite comfortable. I might just do this again.

I've already got the facial hair, so now I just need to gain 300 pounds and my place in this industry will be unshakable.

You'll also need to get rid of your girlfriend.

  • Claim it's a hipster thing. You're wearing sandals with socks because it's ironic.

  • Also, I'm deeply ashamed. I forgot to mention this here fine animation.

Gaining 300 pounds will take care of that.

  • Yeah...  What's with the facial hair thing?  It doesn't hide the nerdiness one bit.

But it did hide the double-chin, back when I had one.

And it also looks pretty distinctive when one has a red beard.

I meant for geeks in general, not you neccessarily.

Personally, I have a calico beard.  Distinctive? Yes.  Attractive?  Probably not.

    Sideburns.

When I was working corporate, Wolverine-length.

Job-hunting, I hacked 'em back to less than half as long.  Think Monkees-era Mike Nesmith.

  •  Oh, we're doing beards now? That's cool. I have some personal content on the subject. Here's what I did.
