Microsoft's Kindel
-
I thought maybe Microsoft was suing Amazon. Instead I found this: http://www.zdnet.com/blog/bott/microsofts-charlie-kindel-bids-farewell-after-21-years/3698?tag=content;selector-blogs
"Kindel’s blog post announcing his departure was overwhelmed with traffic this morning, and the server crashed almost immediately. This time, at least, the culprit wasn’t a Microsoft product but a WordPress installation running on, of all things, a Linux server."
How is that a WTF? A lot of people use blogs which are hosted at other companies (for example, blogspot). And even then, not every employee of a company uses that company's products (I'm sure as hell not using the products my company makes). Not every Microsoft employee is a zealot too, I reckon.

Sounds like sloppy writing. The "culprit" was the amount of traffic, which was obviously too much for the server to handle. The "victim" was the Linux server running Wordpress. Though it sounds like the Linux server isn't going to be the last non-MS thing he uses:

I may stop using some Microsoft products now that I’m out of here.
The name is mildly amusing though.

THISAlthough I'd say WordPress is also a culprit?
