Multi lingual capchas now? Seriously?

  •

Not knowing my Japanese (or maybe its Chinese) particularly well, I thought I'd 'Try another one':

Fortunately, I was third time lucky and got something I actually understood.

BTW, has anyone ever listened to an audio challenge? Those make even less sense to me.

  • I think it must be a recapcha style one, and I think it is fairly obvious which one is the known string and which is thew unknown.

  • How hard is it just to type 餘將? Or just use the Unicode code points, U+9918 and U+5C07.

It was hard enough I couldn't even tell if it was two characters or four.

Every time I try that with a reCaptcha one, it always yells at me and tells me that I was doing it wrong.

  • Discourse touched me in a no-no place

Does this happen on the same site (or perhaps with the same software on different sites) each time, or different sites. If the former I suspect whoever wrote the code is additionally checking for two words being entered when they shouldn't.

    Chinese characters are all square.

That said, when I first saw it I thought it was four, non-Chinese characters.

  • Although you could just type \Sigma_{N}) for the second one.

I don't think the N is actually subscript - I think that's just the way it's been mangled for captcha purposes.

  • You can't get any satisfaction from these captchas :)

Well, actually complex ideograms such as the ones put there are composed of smaller more simple ones, bonus points to the person who can tell correctly how many are in those two kanjis :)

I always make it a sport too to type the correct LaTeX for a mathematical captcha in reCaptcha. Nearly always works too. Unless it's just numerical sub/superscript, then I just use the unicode characters.

    That makes two of us.

reCaptcha on different sites... the only one I can think off presents a reCaptcha without signing up is Tinypic.

I tried uploading a photo of my cat as an example before to TinyPic and got a captcha with some weirdness and it went and worked. Stupid thing.

I uploaded the screendump of the captcha, and tried to find another stupid one, got this one, and it errored on that.

And so what? Lord Inglip expect us to be polyglot. In english it could mean (according to Google) "located I will"... so Inglip want to be found.

  •  When you run into Chinese/Japanese/math sings on rechapta, simply enter "???" since that's what 90% if the population does, and rechapta accept what most people do.

  •  Or write "nigger" like all of 4chan does. They even got banned for a while because of that, I dunno why it's back up now (maybe the trolling stopped or they stopped caring)
