The vending machines here accept credit cards. I accidentally swiped my card with the magstrip facing the wrong way... and this is what happened:

Where did he say they don't also accept cash? All he said was they accept credit cards.
That being said, I would never trust a machine that would so greedily eat paper currency. It's only a matter of time before they get a taste for plastic. Once that happens, the robot revolt has begun and the humans will be forced into slavery.

Clearly the problem was you swiped the card to quickly... just look at the motion blur on most of the letters.

It turns out that swiping a card the wrong turned on the hidden roulette mode. Press End to increase your bet, press a drink button to select the drink you think will win, then swipe your card forward to start the "wheel" spinning!
I blame Robert Aspirin's [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phule%27s_Company]Phule's Company[/url] for this idea.
