Can't afford to buy a 103" plasma display?
-
No problem - buy a hundred million of them and get the volume discount!
-
Hmm.. that's not a bad price at all. If you got your friends to chip in, you could get some wicked cheap electronics. In fact, I'm doing this. All I need to do first is make 99,999,997 new friends.

You only need to make 15'672'259 new friends, and I'm sure all of you together will be able to gather one dollar for your new TVs

You're counting btk and Welbog as friends, aren't you? The former cannot afford a new television because he spends all his money on Asian cuddle-hookers, the latter is Canadian (and thus imaginary).

15 ft x 672 ft x 259? So he needs 2610720 sq. ft new friends? That doesn't even make sense, man.
-
He needs that much friend to clean the TVs, man. A hundred million TVs, each with 37 sq. ft of screen.

No, man, cubic feet. He just missed that last tick.

Argh, I should've scrolled down before trying for myself to calculate that number.

Sub-Total: US$6.38
Wow - being a brit, that to me means six dollars, thirty eight cents! Stuff a million friends, I'll pay that and give the rest to charity!

To me, it says six-thousand three-hundred and eighty-nothing dollars.
That's SO weird.

House & plane for a buck.
Excellent deal!

Oh, good. I thought we had to find the surface area of all our friends. Finding their volume is much easier, especially because I was already going to dunk them in a tank of water anyway.@bstorer said:

Ten thousand dream homes and a plane (to travel between the homes presumably)

hmmm. I seem to remember some consumer laws about truth in advertisement and binding contracts ^.^

Those don't apply except in the country where they are enacted and enforced. In ImaginationLand, for instance, they wouldn't amount to a sack of beans.

A listed price is not binding, it's merely an invitation to treat. Some US states have laws which provide some sort of discount (usually not the full discount if bought at list price, though) for mis-priced goods, but even then there are still certain tests that must be met. For example, the discounted price must be reasonable (e.g. no court is going to believe that you really thought you were getting a new TV for $6--any fool could see it was a mistake and that you are not acting in good faith). Most retailers in these states will just give you something like a 5% or 10% discount at the register rather than deal with the legal system.

Out of (probably ill-advised) curiosity, what do you imagine it means to people who are not Brits?
-
Isn't anyone going to place the order? At least to mess with their inventory system. What if they have a codes that automatically reorders stock?
I'm buying Panasonic stock now so someone please order those TVs.
-
Apparently it costs the full price when you get to the payment page :(

The internet is full of idiots, which makes it hard to tell the real idiots from the ones who are just pretending.

$100 quadrillion for 10,000 homes? So at the quantity discount, a single home is $10 trillion? What... the... hell. I can't even imagine what the hell sort of bug that is.
-
If $6.38 is still too much to pay, you can add 10 billion BlackBerry Pearl 8100s for $4.20, for a total of $1.06. The shipping charges might be a bit high, though.

If their feet are that square, it's no wonder they do unnatural things with sheep.

Yeah, maybe the Scots have the sheep and the Welsh do unnatural things with coal mines. I don't know how you expect me to keep all of the little barnacle-countries hanging off of England straight.

Wait, which Mel Gibson movie? Are you saying that the Jews didn't really kill Jesus? Or that Danny Glover is not, in fact, too old for this shit?

Q. What do you call a sheep tied to a lamp post? A. A Welsh leisure center.
Q. Why do the Scots wear kilts?? A. Because sheep can hear a zipper a mile away
They're not the only ones:
Q. Why do NZ racehorses run so fast? A. Cuz they have seen what gets done to the sheep

Looks like they've fixed that page now. I'm being quoted US$6,391,600,900.00 for the TVs and aircraft from back in the first post.

Nope, not fixed. Make sure you have the right quantities - the link in the first post does not resolve to a fixed order. I think it's a "guest" shopping cart, from some of the messages I've received, so the contents of the order change as people play around with it.In any case, 100 million of the $63k TVs still comes up as costing $6.38 for me.
