I think it broke. Might have something to do with the width? Or possibly the height. Though, both taken together may make it look like a 'web-bug.' Certainly looked suspicious when I saw a blank first post on a thread. Then again I don't really know about these things... 'onest guv'

    For those interested:

  •  Hmmm... renders fine for me in FF 3.5.7 on Win7 64. I'm not a web bug, honest.

(and, of course - the real WTF is the forum, etc etc...)

In the current ethanol despensing building I'm in, It's IE, 7.0 if the UA is to be believed. I'll try and remember to try elsewhere once the side effects have worn off.

I'm assuming the 'insert picture' widget was involved - using the antiquated version of the editor that's on here IIRC.

Not that anyone should have to view their posts on X different browsers before posting...

Fine here.  I can t remember which browser it was (IE I think) that messed up when you put width="" height="" but this may be similar.  FF probably made an executive decision and was like "no, fuck that.  Im not displaying this at 1x0"

And no, even though I have IE on this comp, I can t be buggered to check.

  •  Nobody noticed it was a png? Anyone got that picture with HA HA You're using IE?

(Not that I can be arsed to check that its the PNG bug because I'm on FF as well).

  • Clicky. Doesn't work in IE 5.5 through 8.

That's not what page source says... it says <img src="http://www.perisoft.org/forum.png" alt="" width="" align="" border="" height="" hspace="" />. And yes, this is a long known issue in Community Server, but I can't find my linked list of example threads. 8=/

The workaround is to wait until the rich editor finishes downloading when you add the image, or use the raw editor like a Real Man. Of course, it's not much useful, as people triggering the bug aren't likely to have heard of it before, but I can't resist sharing my knowledgeshowing off.

It's what came up when I clicked the Quote button on that post when I replied.

What your browser subsequently comes up with after the fact is neither here-nor-there.

  • The Daily WTF forums: Never mind the OPs, let's just discuss when, how much, why, and which version of IE sucks.

Mine came up with this when I asked for a quote (and then pressed the html button):

    <img src="http://www.perisoft.org/forum.png" alt="" align="" border="" height="" hspace="" width="">

The quote button is handled user-side perhaps? Dumping the browser-molested html of the previous post into yours?

Hmm; yes, indeed. It didn't occur to me at the time.
