@hardwaregeek
exactly...
Every week or two I will be changing the file out with a new one..
This way the link isn't broken...I'm not sure that you can search this file without Swamp Search...
-
Who is it that keeps downvoting swampy?
-
@jaloopa Clicking the -1, it looks like it's .
-
@jaloopa
Obviously and Anti-Swampie
I should have shared my secrets long ago.
Now I'm waiting for a Swampie to make a text copy of the Paradise and Panama Papers
And future leaked data.

Why... does he not deserve it?

Of course not. He's great!

Sharing is contagious.
I would have kept more notes on all kinds of important stuff.
Now that my notes etc are getting updated regularly I want my swampies to know more.I will check my backup drive for real early notes and email.
You'll get it all.
Now if you swampies had similar large text files.

BRB. I'm going to get my vaccinations updated.

That explains a lot now that you mention it.

I have found lots of old text.. email notes etc. now the file is 89mb
There is info that I have long forgot. Dang I wished I kept more notes.
I don't worry about sharing my data. The bad guys probably have all my secrets.
Now the swampies can Search these text files just like I am.Now if DurlaSwamp would get us another download of this thread. Then I can see all the good and nasty comments....
-

@the_quiet_one
Yup the file is dated August 19 2011 and is 117,611 kb
I included it in the data upload that was done today.

I'd like a text dump of this entire site... Are you listening thedailywtfies?
one huge file so I can find all the good arguments over the years.Having large large files makes Spectate search worthwhile. Search and find like mad.
What the swampies could do with the panama and paradise papers. It will be fun.
I want a link to those text files.
-
Type "site:thedailywtf.com whatever" into Google and hit Enter-Enter. Gives you the best results ever. Nobody can share knowledge better than that.
-

Not even close. Spectate search finds everything. Google notso good
See results not just links to results. It would be as if I didn't merge the data and
listed the files that the matches were found. How poor that would be.
-
@spectateswamp Wait, do you mean there is a SpectateSwampInternetSearch-shaped hole in the market?
-
@pleegwat he just needs a text file of the entire internet to search through
-
@jaloopa said in Nobody shares knowledge better than this:

Nope I just want all the leaked info. Be it corporate emails, political emails
whatever they do to screw us over will be exposed.
People / Swampies need to start leaking the secrets that are killing our economy.Again I want all the text from this site. Is DerulaSwamp the only talented resident here?

I'm lazy myself so I understand...
Maybe there is a swampie out there that will crawl this and other sites so we can all search the history
Where are you Derula when I need you?
-
@spectateswamp said in Nobody shares knowledge better than this:

Apparently too lazy to hit Enter so your text doesn't look like it's part of @boomzilla's quoted text.
-
What is the Max text file size that Google will index?
I asked this question on quora. I'm sure that my Swampies would know.
Nobody appreciates knowledge better than this
-
@spectateswamp Let me know when you've concatenated THE WHOLE DAMN INTERNET into a text file, and then we can start trying to compare your silly little toy to Google.

What's really funny is he probably DID hit Enter once, because there's a bug (feature?) in NodeBB where if you have only one linebreak after a quote, it still considers it part of the quote.
So, SpectateSwamp didn't do his infamous Enter-Enter routine, which he's been so proud of in his own software. It's an example of irony I'd love to see in a remake of a certain 90s song that played 50 times a day on pop stations everywhere.

It seems that google does not index anything larger than 500kb and other limits on the number of links. That could be a very HUGE amount of data.
I want a bot that will deliver only those large text files to spectate search what google won't or can't.
My swampies will get those records for me I'm sure.

My swampies will get those records for me I'm sure. For practical purposes, the files you're referring to simply do not exist. No sane person needs them, because there are much better ways of managing that amount of data. Dumping it into a huge text file is . You might as well dump it in a black hole.
Even simply paginating the data would allow Google to both index the site and send users closer to the actual data for which they're searching, rather than just telling them it's somewhere in this multi-megabyte monster wall of text.

The most recent code is at:
http://www.telusplanet.net/public/stonedan/source28mar_2017.txtI am going to start a couple threads elsewhere and direct them back here for details...
ie "take this spaghetti code and Jam-It"
or
"welcome to spaghetti code"I'll be calling on swampies to assist me in making a minor modification....
It will be quite simple and I'll show what I'd do and accept almost anything..
It doesn't have to be structured or perfect perfect.I sure hope swampies will create siimilar threads on programming sites.
The problem is that many sites have banned me...

...for being incoherent, stubborn, and all-out insane, yes.

@spectateswamp Please to put the codes on GitHub so I can fork

Under other circumstances, I'd be enthusiastic about forking spaghetti (especially with a good bolognese, mm!), but in this case it's been around so long it's moldy, dried-out and almost certainly very toxic.

nope my github account must have been locked.
what is wrong with grabbing the text and dumping it into vb6
and jam it just like Swampie...

Not at all.
Most techies get their nose out of joint when somebody claims to be better than them. The fact is that none of 'em can Touch this app.

@spectateswamp Have you tried downloading wikipedia? It's bound to have pages that qualify.

@spectateswamp said in Nobody shares knowledge better than this:

You mean...aside from vb6?
-
Wikipedia has exactly 40 articles bigger than 512000 bytes at the time (I assume that's markup text though, not HTML).
They're all boring-ass lists or tables with the single exception of "Battle of Mosul (2016–2017)".
-
@spectateswamp said in Nobody shares knowledge better than this:

What if I converted it to vb.net?
-
Another feature I'd like to see my swampies try is to make a cript.txt file
that will bilingualize all my notes...That Spectate Search uses this file to encrypt text data. 2 lines of text per each change
The first is the line to find the 2nd is the replacement text.Any search worth its salt had a search / replace option. Even old Greppler himself
did that one.Google doesn't have that option or does it?
This feature would allow me to easily create source code for each and every language
French Spanish .... English. All my Swampies will have the exact same source. This change should be quite easy too. To make it work on the source I'd have to skip the logic
that changes multiple spaces and tabs to 1 space. ONLY if the search program name has "code" in it....Not hard to create a differences option to check what has changed....
Any good search should have this....Go my Swampies.....
I'll be so proud of you...

You'd be the Swampie of 2017 that's for sure.
Please make sure to have the exe and txt availible I would want to try it....
And maybe do a vb.net build myself.

Thanks I grabbed a big one and pasted it into a text file for searching.
So there are tons of data Google Can't google but Spectate can......
