Discord I'm not actually in a server....

That happened to me while I was in a server - it booted me to that screen and then every message was marked as unread in all channels in all servers.

For a while I wasn't able to post to any Discord servers, through any means (Browser or Desktop app). A couple of days ago I loaded a minidump created when the issue occurred in WinDbg, and discovered that the issue was caused by the AsusTek Update Application. Uninstalling that fixed Discord.
I honestly have no idea how an updater completely unrelated to Discord broke the site, but it did.
Asus makes good hardware, but their software is mostly shit.

Discord also had a major service interruption yesterday, I'm wondering if there might be little aftershock effects going on.

Not so sure about that.
Over the years, I bought 6 Android tablets from Asus. None lasted more than just passed the warranty period and some died before the end of it.
Bought a transformer book, died about 1 month after the warranty period.
Asus motherboards seem to still be OK.

In other news, Discord changed their design to add something resembling a window's title bar to their shitty browser-but-we-pretend-it's-an-application application.
Right-clicking the window preview in the taskbar to move, resize, or close it still does not work. Even though it's "window" supports all of those operations.
Surely that company has ONE PERSON who actually USES Windows, right?

Well, the people who design our Windows app all use Macs, so I certainly wouldn't assume that... (that $deity we don't have to be pixel-perfect - we're allowed to tweak a little so it's closer to Windows standards)

@dcon Do contextual menus work?

In ours, yes. Well, mostly. (We fought tooth+nail and managed to bring back the standard windows caption - the argument that won over mgmt was that we were spending 50% of our time fixing bugs with what they wanted us to do with the caption. Since that victory, they do seem to listen to us more about how things should work)
-
@dcon Well then you're doing a better job than the morons that make Discord. Congrats.
The worst part is I know that contextual menu isn't impossible to do because both Google Hangouts and VS Code do it, and they're also "browsers pretending to be app" abominations.
I just noticed, however, that Slack's "app" is broken in the exact same way, so I wager Discord's using them as an "example".
You know 5 years ago, you never had to worry about an application lacking the stuff that the OS gives them for free just for opening a normal window. God I hate software developers.

My reaction exactly.
