Today, I discovered TempleOS.
I’m fairly certain my life will never be the same again. (The screenshot doesn’t show the glory of the rapidly scrolling window titles or the flashing
MENU
at the top.)Hey, it even includes a Wolfenstein clone!
-
Yeah, we've had a few discussions about it before on here. Fun stuff!
-
DamnGoshdarnit, you’re right … how could I have missed those?
-
Hmmn, how many 'I just discovered TempleOS' threads does this make? I know of at least three.
I still want to see what would happen if there was a conversation here between Terry Davis and @SpectateSwamp, but I guess that will have to wait until Davis gets out if jail again. I don't know if he got out on bail or not, or when this latest case will go to trial, but given his history I am guessing he's in protective custody at a mental hospital again - he has a history of refusing to take his prescribed anti-psychotics, and given that this incident involves an assault, well...

I would pay to see that.

I'd pay more to not have to listen to it as well.

I believe he's been bailed, though I hope he doesn't try to turn it into a FTA.
-
@scholrlea I went ahead a look TD up, and wow, what a lunatic.

No, that wouldn't turn out well, I'm sure.

And this surprises you? :)

If he was inside, then I suppose he’s either out, or has someone helping him with his OS:

Check out most of the links on the front page of his site. Anything after “File Downloads (100% Public Domain)” will do.

No, that wouldn't turn out well, I'm sure. From the article
In general, it is a non-commutative algebra. It becomes commutative when the two functionals are the same.
That's the dumbest thing I've read all day

Shh; don't tell anybody, but I didn't even open the article. I just went to the disambiguation page and copied the URL of the article that seemed the most amusing.
-
@hardwaregeek I read almost entire article. I might have as well not read it at all, because I understood nothing.
-
@gąska It's probably safe to ignore, considering:
Also, the wikipedia article is mostly edited by the same guy.

I probably wouldn't have, either. I somehow made it through Calculus, DiffEq, Linear Algebra, and Advanced Engineering Mathematics (assorted transforms, Laplace, Fourier, Z, etc.) — just barely. (I'm pretty sure I've posted previously about my Linear Algebra teacher's utterly bizarre grading scheme; that's the only way I passed that class.) I've never had to take any more abstract Math classes, and when I occasionally encounter the topics (pretty much just here), the concepts are so unintuitive that ... .

Doesn't it violate Wikipedia rules?

Admins being complete asshats to users violates Wikipedia rules, and yet somehow that's still like 80% of the activity on Wikipedia.
-
@blakeyrat you misunderstood me. I want to report this article to those asshat admins for them to delete it after 10 years.
-
@gąska Well they love nothing more than deleting shit, so go for it. Delete it all!
-
@gąska Maybe? I'm not familiar enough with the rules to say either way. Just suggesting that the article probably isn't worth spending too much effort on.

If this was the only post I've ever read from you, I'd bet money you're referring to German Wikipedia. You won't believe it, but they're even worse. And they delete everything as not noteworthy. I'm surprised the main page is still there.
And under no circumstances try to improve a page that some admin or admin's friend decided is their pet page. They'll revert everything unless it's an obvious typo. Even then I'm not sure.
-
@topspin can't be worse than SO "moderators". There's a bunch of people who totally love rewriting entire questions from scratch. It's one thing to edit Wikipedia. It's another to edit someone personal post that they signed with their (user)name.

Yes, literally. As in, he's been diagnosed with Paranoid Schizophrenia and has been institutionalized on multiple occasions.
Not that this really excuses the rampant racism and homophobia, his frequent violent outbursts, or most recently, the bout of compulsive public masturbation that was apparently so vigorous that he broke his clavicle in the process (or so he seems to have claimed, as usual his statement about it made little sense) followed by yet more violence, but it does sort of explain it. I guess...

Must be what happen if you masturbate while you tumble down a staircase
-
@antiquarian I am going by the screen shot that Vlad guy sent me and how he explained what he thought it meant.
As you can see, he's got quite a few fans on 4chan, no surprises there.

OK, I thought that might happen. I downloaded the image locally and then uploaded it to WTDWTF, so it should be visible now.

Remember that hour-long cabbie rant I uploaded a couple years back discussing in detail how Numerology predicts the end of the world in 2020?
Things that make you go hmmm.
