Dream + scam? coincidence.
-
So, when I was trying to have my first kid, I went to a fertility clinic and they took my sperm to get a count.
Last night I had a dream where I found out I had a kid out there because the fertility clinic illegally passed off my sperm for donation.
Today I get a facebook friend request with a girl saying that their friend is looking for their father, and the girl had my middle name and last name.
So, I'm a little weirded out now.
-
Is the girl the right age?

She claims "her friend" is looking.
She definitely isn't the right age.

Even if it were true, at which point someone broke the law, I can't afford the risk that this isn't some adult trying to leverage the situation to get money out of me.

The situation from your dream?
-
@xaade Well we all know dreams predict the future with 100% accuracy and aren't just random neuron firing, so I suggest you wave your arms in the air as you run around in panic.

It is a odd coincidence to me. I'm not placing any stake on it.
The rest of the conversation is taking the facebook situation in isolation of the dream.
The only way possible for me to have a kid out there is that fertility clinic.h
I deleted the friend request. Like the title says, pretty sure this is a scam, and I can't afford if it is. Even if the kid is mine.

No, I'm saying that this real life situation on facebook is likely just a scam, even if the kid could be mine.

Not predict the future, but my ex-wife always woke up convinced I had actually done whatever undesirable thing she had just dreamed I'd done. It made for some really awkward middle-of-the-night conversations.

I'm very doubtful the sperm would be viable after being tested.
Fair enough, but do you really think they needed all of it to perform the test on?

Not always, but my grandfather had a time where he dreamed he was walking to work, and he saw a guy get hit by a car but then he wasn't hurt.
The next morning, as he was walking to work, he saw the guy from his dream get hit by a car. And he knew, before the guy even hit the ground, that he would be fine... and then he was.
Every once in a while, it does happen.

Not so sure the numbers are large enough for that, but ok.

Knowing some people with fertility struggles, if only it were that easy...

And then when it finally works, you get triplets. It happened to a couple of friends, and 7 years later they are finally starting to be able to breathe a bit. Having 3 babies or toddlers at the same time is a huge pain for, well, everything.
