  • Even the most worthless among us can create an actual link using the TinyMCE so that I don't have to select it, then CTRL-C-T-V to go where you want me to go.

Even the most worthless of us know that Community Server doesnt think that TinyMCE runs on Chrome.

I hope you don't think that's some kind of valid argument.

I know Chrome doesn't work with TinyMCE.  That's why I use FF even though I like Chrome better at the moment.

So you're saying "Hey I use this brand new browser that doesn't work with everything yet but IE and FF work just fine.  I'm running Windows so IE is already on my machine, yet I choose to use this sharp new browser for everything despite its obvious flaws and scream loudly about how I can't use the basic features of this forum."

    That about sum it up?

I have Chrome, IE, and FF up right now, because none of them are the silver bullet.

Chrome runs TinyMCE just fine, better even then K-Melon in some cases. Trust me, I use it on my personal website because I like it better.  I would have bitched and griped heavily if Chrome hadnt liked TinyMCE (Hint, try Chrome with the UA set to IE8, then try the forums.) Chrome actually hits the Acid3 a lot better than most browsers now, including K-Melon, which fails heavily). AS well, I tried posting from Opera Mini, and CS thought "Hey, its got Opera in the name, lets let it use TinyMCE. The results were... not pretty.

However, this version of Community Server is a few years old, as is the TinyMCE it uses.  Hence, it pre-dates Chrome.  Hence, Chrome is not supported.

I use FF for two reasons that I can't live without: Firebug and NoScript.

Chrome's attempt at Firebug sucks donkey balls.

It's funny because it's true. I mainly use Chrome but I fire up Firefox when I need to post a more complex reply than this.

I guess I'm just too far off because I already know HTML, and most of its quirks across browsers

Everyone here knows HTML but I prefer hitting the enter button instead of putting <p> tags around my paragraphs manually

I know enough HTML to post everything I may ever need to post on the forums.  However, I use FF because I don't WANT TO write my own HTML.  So while you're stuck with an unclosed anchor tag and a mistyped img tag, I'm done with my post and back to flipping a coin over whether I should shoot or blow morbiuswilters.

    blow +1

I'd like to see that. No... wait, I don't

Oh really? This page begs to differ. Aside from the PHP WTF's, you yourself couldn't figure out why it validates as XHTML Transitional.

    FYI,

    Chrome's = Safari's = Webkit's < Firebug

The only downside in my opinion is that Firebug slows down Firefox like any extension.  At least the other browsers have the tool built-in. Opera's Dragonfly is pretty good in my opinion, the best of all the Firebug alternatives.
