Status: Doing a Microsoft survey.
This is going to be fun...
Do you program in the Cloud™?
-
FFS CSS is *not* a coding language! Neither is HTML5!
Filed under: Well, for certain definitions of coding?
-
Meh...
-
-
How many other game developers dynamically allocate Azure VMs for their game servers?
-
Lemme tell you about a certain Character Creator that was developed in a silo away from the main avatar system....
-
Though only five are in use at any given time, now...
Dang! No Gaming industry yet. Stupid Microsoft...
-
Our CEO uses a MacBook Pro.
-
Lol.
-
Avoiding as many horror stories as possible. Also, screw your program installations and licences!
Filed under: Never even heard of most of those tools. Good jorb advertising them to me, MS...
-
But will it Crisis?
-
Screw licensing!
-
Seriously, I must be subscribed to the wrong lists or something...
-
Buy our stuff! Because it's The Cloud™!
Text in the boxes:
If everything is on the Cloud, why is it impossible to have a connector appliance of some sort to migrate the AD to the cloud and then just stub AD requests up into the cloud?
It's already expensive enough to run AD. I haven't seen sufficient demonstration why the cloud is better, and many instances in which it's demonstrably worse.
-
Perhaps I need to watch more Microsoft Ads?
-
Stop using biometrics as authentication!
-
Almost lying
-
I just want to know one thing: Is it free?
-
Screw your renamed Sharepoint!
-
Gotta love that marketing...
-
Lemme tell you about how I use all this stuff I've never heard about...
-
Screw you!
-
At this point, the survey is becoming cheeky...
-
I just want you to let me confidently tell my users Microsoft isn't spying on us...
-
I try to avoid being the alpha tester...
-
Finally! A lot longer than 20 minutes, but I *was* taking screenshots, so...

No I prefer to do it in the buff

I believe that's "Other".
@tsaukpaetra said in @Tsaukpaetra takes a survey:
Text in the boxes:
Thanks. They're like "Please explain inside these tiny little boxes".

The question is right and you are wrong. Both of those are coding languages.
They are not programming languages, however.
-

Select "Other" and tell them. You're bad at surveys.

Meh.
Edit: besides, I can't literally select "Other" for every radio button option! That would be worse IMO and less likely to be included in any actual results. Everybody knows that those who write in the "Other" box are just shoved into the "these are outlier results and will be discarded" bin.

Or did you mean:

Or perhaps
-
@tsaukpaetra When someone's coding a medical procedure, are they writing a computer program? No they are not.
The word "code" has many meanings.

Exactly. So why aren't ciphers and other such mentioned? Shirley there are more precise words they could use?
It would equivalent to me asking:
Which communication methods do you use?
- UDP
- TCP
- RPC
- LDAP
- HTTP
- JSON
- XML
- UNICODE
- DCOM
-
@tsaukpaetra said in @Tsaukpaetra takes a survey:

Because the surveyer doesn't care about those?
Look, you're stretching to call that question incorrect in any way. You're reaching. The question's fine. Relax.

I have to try! That's what this forum is all about, is it not?
It's not my fault if I'm doing it wrong!

Hey everybody, we'll never have a better thread to take revenge on @Tsaukpaetra abuse of upvote as a way to mark a post as read

3.04% isn't a rounding error
Windows Phone on the other hand...

Crap those graphs suck ... is it really that hard to give 0.01% and make your graphs not shitty? Call out lines that cross ... modderfokkeronapogostick that shit is bad

Like the program designed it a necessity to put a stick in the center of the woods slice and then draw a line from the end of that to wherever the text label was...

Wait, you run ChromeOS on a desktop? Isn't the entire point of a Chromebook that it's portable and can easily be replaced?

I used to run Lime on my desktop-replacement laptop. Should look to see if that project is still going...
Edit: Wait, it might not be Lime. Hmm.. WTF was it called...

Oh, that's another point - I'm pretty sure you can't run ChromeOS on a desktop because ChromeOS is the Google-branded version of ChromiumOS and each Chromebook model has its own build of ChromeOS.

There was a project that actually made a generalized build, but I can't remember the name anymore...
