TNT Post got their languages mixed up...

  •  Just a minor WTF. I looked up my parcel shipment progress at the TNT site, and got a page that was partially in my own language (Dutch) and partially in French (the parts circled in green).

It resolved itself after redoing the query, I didn't try any of the other language tabs.

     TNT mixed their languages

Sounds like someone's website was not intended to handle more than one simultaneous user!

Either way, one of the funnier WTF's in a while.  Thanks for the lunchtime laugh!

Wait, what?  Now they turned you into a Belgian?  Can you get compensation for that?

  •  While you are right about some of those things you circled in green (and it's truly a WTF, although one I've seen before on other multilingual sites), you are wrong about circling "collo" and "colli". First, those words aren't French, but Italian of origin (French would be "colis"). Second, while not common, this word ("colli" is just the plural of "collo") is actually used in Dutch! You can find it in the Van Dale (although not in the free online version), and even Google Translate knows about it! It's used as a technical term to mean "verpakkingseenheid, pakket", i.e. "parcel, package" in English.

     Still a WTF though.

  •  TNT is a wtf in general. Once I had to develop an app to talk to their shipping API so we could automatically ship orders. After building the entire thing we realised that they didn't have shipping codes for this country (send overnight, deliver by a certain time, etc). I called and asked about it. Apparently this wasn't an omission in their API. They didn't have shipping codes for us at all. Their entire API was unusable in this country. We were told they'd work on it and call us when they had something.

That was about 4 years ago. I'm still waiting for them to fix it.
