  • I have an email account where I receive tons of emails just like this.

I've been scam baiting for a little while. I posted one to a blog if you want to see. It's about the time someone wanted to give me a magical stone called hogbese. Sorry if it's a little long but it's pretty funny.

  • Is the Russian as bad as the English?

  • The Russion is in fact, a google translate.

  • How does the name Awa translate into "АВВА" in Russian? With quotes no less?

My Mamma Mia could send an SOS to a Dancing Queen, but why don't you just take a chance on me?

    Somebody shoot me for that.

There's no "w" sound in Russian, but can't explain the two "B"s.

  •  English is the de facto language of Liberia.

  •  GoogleTranslate still only gives it one B though.

It seems to be translating “W” to “VV” (double “V”) which is written as “В” in cyrillic (which is the letter “Ve”, not the latin letter “B”). Since Google gets lots of Russian-language hits on it that don’t seem to be referring to the Swedish rock group, it seems to be a legitimate translation. I can’t explain the quotes, however.

I was waiting for someone to point this out.  Liberia was founded by former slaves and free blacks from America who felt they would be safer and freer by moving back to Africa.  The country became a safe haven for former slaves and those that escaped capture by European or American slave traders.  The founders heavily adopted American ideals, institutions, customs and culture (excluding slavery, of course).  The capital is named after America's 5th President, the country's name is derived from "liberty" and the flag is very similar to the US flag.

The idea of repatriating blacks to Africa was long popular amongst freed slaves, abolitionists and even Lincoln supported it for awhile.  This became somewhat moot after the Civil War, the Emancipation Proclamation and the 13th Amendment, however.  Eventually, repatriation came to be associated with the segregation and is now seen as patently racist ("send 'em back to Africa", etc..)

This idea appeals to the BNP, and I'm sure they'd like to subscribe to your newsletter.

Some guy in the future may come to thank me for putting here the permalink rather than just the link to the blog:

  •  TRWTF is that Awa wound up being translated in "her" name, but not "her father's" name.

LOL, your country is being overrun with white supremecist fascists on one side and Islamofascists on the other.  I guess you'd expect your government to provide some protection and stability, but it seems now that the primary purpose of your government to pander to extremists.  Oh, and the BNP is now a legitimate part of the government and is increasing in popularity and strength daily.  Sucks to be U(K).

  • Yes, the primary purpose of our government is to pander to extremists.  Allah forbid we ever do anything to offend a Muslim.  That's why our soldiers are fighting and dying in Afghanistan.

Well it did take the intervention of a newspaper to stop a council funding schools linked to Hizb ut-Tahrir. So not only is the government pandering to them, they're actually giving them money.

The sad thing is that the inept and "politically correct" mainstream media in the US is doing its best to ignore Hizb ut-Tahrir.
