Here is what I received in my inbox today:

I know it is the will of God for us to know each other because am searching for a man who has good sense of humor, I will be happy if we can be acquainted. i will also appreciate your prompt response. I will love to introduce my self to you today. my is Miss Jasmine Awa , I have 23 years old, I came from Liberia in west Africa. I am the only daughter of Dr Wilson Awa. my late father was the director of sobaz oil before his death from the war going on in my country . It was on one early morning militants groups attack to my family killing my parents on a cold blood ward, I am the only one left. I flew to a near by country Dakar Senegal where we are staying now as a refugee, am doing my second year in nursing school before the incident occurred. attached here is my pictures. Supposedly it's a girl from Liberia, west Africa. To add legitimacy to the letter, he added a translation of it...in what language? Liberian??? (No, these can hardly be written). Oh yes! Russian!!!! Good to know that Liberian girls can write Russian so well!!!

I've been scam baiting for a little while. I posted one to a blog if you want to see. It's about the time someone wanted to give me a magical stone called hogbese. Sorry if it's a little long but it's pretty funny.

There's no "w" sound in Russian, but can't explain the two "B"s.

It seems to be translating “W” to “VV” (double “V”) which is written as “В” in cyrillic (which is the letter “Ve”, not the latin letter “B”). Since Google gets lots of Russian-language hits on it that don’t seem to be referring to the Swedish rock group, it seems to be a legitimate translation. I can’t explain the quotes, however.

I was waiting for someone to point this out. Liberia was founded by former slaves and free blacks from America who felt they would be safer and freer by moving back to Africa. The country became a safe haven for former slaves and those that escaped capture by European or American slave traders. Well it did take the intervention of a newspaper to stop a council funding schools linked to Hizb ut-Tahrir. So not only is the government pandering to them, they're actually giving them money.
