What the fuck, Apple?

why does iTunes need to synch the whole iPhone?
Because for some reason the songs needs to be verified by Apple before it can be put on your phone, and since it's literally impossible to get songs off the device (you can only store, list, and delete), and the database is stored read-only, it must be erased and re-uploaded to the device each time (or it won't be recognized).
Or so I assume, since there's no other logical reason why you would have to erase your device in order to add a file to it...

Did the emoji set change for And or is that just Chrome Android implementation?
I thought the emojis were .gifs?
They're PNGs, but EmojiOne updates sometimes when there are forum updates.

So, anyone using Linux or any browser that's not Safari or Edge is apparently not worthy to see the unveiling of the new iProducts by going to the Apple site.
-
@atazhaia I did what I do whenever I watch one of these things, which is keep a liveblog open in one tab and periodically check it for updates.

I did what I do whenever I watch one of these things. Masturbate furiously while setting fire to all my ancient outdated piece of shit 6-month phones, now that they are 100% useless.

Apple wouldn't stream to me even with Edge. I guess keynote is only for Americans and blessed West Europeans with deep pockets. I had to watch the event through some pirated YouTube stream.
Either way, meh. New iPhone X is super fugly and underwhelming. Doubly so since they announced it as the second coming of Christ.

Be careful to take off the new Apple Watch (tm) with 24/7 elevated heart rate detection and full cellular support, less it auto-dials 911.

And the new FaceID feature that's supposed to be better than TouchID failed during the presentation. Womp-wah.

Am I the only one who just leaves their phone unlocked these days? The number of times I felt I needed screen lock is literally zero.
The phone is either with me or at my house. I treat it the same way as my wallet. And I don't have a lock on the wallet, so...

Um, actually, I think you mean the FIRST coming of Christ. Apple is first, always.

My android autolocks after an hour. It's rooted, so I can probably prevent that.

@cartman82 mine unlocks with my watch (Android) but I tell students to always put a passcode on theirs since taking someone's phone (usually just for a sec in their presence, not long-term theft) is endemic.

What? How could they fail at that? Android has had Face Unlock for... a while now...

Sure, but that's old and rusty tech. Apple's version is far more advanced because it shines a flash light into your face and draws neat little IR dots and stuff. Does it really matter if it works?

I put a passcode on when Android started insisting on it if I wanted to be able to use apps to pay for things directly.
I also have smart lock set up so it's actually unlocked as much as possible

You must not have anything you wouldn't be okay sharing with strangers. That's what thumbprint locks are good for - I can generally turn it on and unlock it with the same home button press, while making sure nobody can just look through my phone.

Yeah. For me it's the back of the phone (which is ridiculously convenient, btw), but yeah, it's totally worth it.

mental note: do not need to beat pie_flavor's unlock code out of him. Just need to use garden shears to remove thumb.

Seriously? I was able to watch it just fine here in Poland.

Well, unfortunately our bodies aren't 100 percent efficient, so, certain waste material is produced from the sustenance we consume and the normal operations of the body....

Same. Only problem is my finger seems to be about twice as large as LG expects, so I'm often hitting the sensor with the wrong part of the finger which doesn't work.

If someone is in the position to either beat me or cut my finger, I don't think the contents of my phone will really be my top preoccupation.

The only problem with that is that I also have an iPhone, and the two phones are not immediately distinguishable in my pocket. So I often find myself pulling out my iPhone and lovingly stroking the Apple logo on the back (which is in the same place as the fingerprint sensor on the Pixel!) while wondering why my phone isn't unlocking. :X

Hard to use? You imply that it ever wasn't.

Mine has a pattern unlock, but not for security, it's to stop it from unlocking while in my pocket. Also smart lock so it's not really locked most of the time.
