Never mind.

So it's transient.

I was right, wasn't I. :P

Okay, so here's what I was trying to do.
First, somehow, this post was able to reply to itself (expand the REPLIES link)
https://what.thedailywtf.com/post/1223947
So I:
- Expanded the REPLIES box to see that it was replying to itself
- Hit REPLY (to topic, not to the specific post)
- Posted a reply
My reply ended up streaming in as a reply to the expanded message (it showed up under REPLIES), but did not stream into the topic itself.
After refreshing to the page, the reply showed up as normal.
So weird bug that will almost never happen and doesn't break anything. So meh.

Yeah, but that's not a bug. That's just me being extra super duper clever.

Oh... yeah, that's strange.
The JS that streams in the new post is putting it in the wrong place.

Is it just if the last post has a replies section expanded?
edit: yeah, it appears to be. If the last post has its replies section expanded, then new posts that stream in end up in that replies section. Note that a post that has replies can only be the last post in somewhat rare instances anyway (threads with a popcorn button, threads that have recently had a jeffing, and threads where I've been too clever for my own good).

Well, shit. Okay, so it doesn't happen at all if the new post streams in on a new page.
Let's try that again. Test.

Ok... it depends on whether there are any posts displayed beneath the expanded replies section. Posts inside the replies section (even if theyshould be below it, but got streamed into the replies section instead because of the bug) don't count.
