Error in413REQUEST URI
-
These show up all over the place in ATT.net Webmail... I looked at the URL once, it was ~3K characters - I'll post it if I see it again...
-
Some ad URLs are massive because they're 'chained' - eg. the URL for the destination is encoded in the click forwarding URL, which is encoded in another company's click forwarding URL, which is encoded in another, etc. The click URLs can be 0.5-1k each in many cases. Good thing IE supports a whopping, erm, 2k chars...
-
So it has an unintentional built in adblocking feature? cool.
-
Gotta love URLs which are larger than the memory space on the first PCs...

I think the implication was "these retarded URLs won't work in IE", not "the OP is seeing errors because the URLs are too long for IE".
-
It wouldn't matter anyway. 413 means "Request entity too large". In other words, the urls are too long to send to the server with the ads, regardless of browser.
