There are a lot of old movies and stuff that you could sell as new and most people wouldn't even notice.
Sure they would. They're better than most of the shit Hollywood's putting out now.

It was the exact same complaint. "You're making jokes only geezers could get".

Protip: in every country but the UK, people don't even watch sitcoms from 40 years ago because our TV networks aren't State-owned and actually create new content annually instead of playing decades-old content. It's pretty amazing. In short, your joke is not very dyn-o-miiite!
First up, Allo Allo is from the 80s.
Second up, even the BBC produces new sitcoms every year, along with the other channels. The problem is, they're all crap and so we look at stuff done years ago that still holds up on some level.

Occasionally, some madman decides to try to rerun some of the old stuff that was obviously crap when it was originally made. They get the viewing figures they deserve.
I'm guessing that a lot of the best writing talent is working on more serious drama at the moment.
-
@dkf And then you have the occasional mad man that tries to make a sequel to an existing comedy, cf. Rock 'n' Chips.

As a person who (unfortunately) watched Hyperspace (motto: 12 episodes, 2 jokes), I guess I could see that point of view.

So now if I ever use ICQ again I can impress (very easily-impressed) people with my 7-digit ICQ number.
I have a feeling mine was in that range too, but I can’t for the life of me find it again in old emails. Also, the ICQ site says the email address that I’m certain I would have used at the time, isn’t linked to an ICQ account :(

You managed to watch that much of it?
