So you see an entry on HN titled
SKYACTIV-X: first commercial gasoline engine to use compression ignition (mazda.com)
Looks enought interesting to take a look, no? Lets go in...
Mazda Announces Long-Term Vision for Technology Development, 'Sustainable Zoom-Zoom 2030'
Cute, looks like vroommmm vrooommm...
Under the original "Sustainable Zoom-Zoom" vision announced in 2007, the company has striven to offer both driving pleasure and outstanding environmental and safety performance. In light of the rapid changes taking place in the automotive industry, the new vision takes a longer-term perspective and sets out how Mazda will use driving pleasure, the fundamental appeal of the automobile, to help solve issues facing people, the earth and society.
Wow, it only misses to cure halitosis and erection disfunction...
Mazda believes its mission is to bring about a beautiful earth and to enrich people's lives as well as society.
Through conservation initiatives, create a sustainable future in which people and cars coexist with a bountiful, beautiful earth
Expand measures for carbon dioxide reduction from a "well-to-wheel" ...
catchy, eh?
Pursue an enhanced Jinba-ittai driving feel that will unlock people's potential and revitalize them mentally and physically
what !?!?
[An actual small section about gasoline injection, inteligible]
*2 Mazda's human-centered self-driving technology development concept. People enjoy driving while being revitalized mentally and physically. Meanwhile the car is driving "virtually" with a firm grasp of the movements of the driver and the car. In unexpected situations, such as a sudden loss of consciousness, the car will override the driver, automatically contact emergency services and drive safely to the most appropriate location.
Ohh, 'firm grasp', tell me more...

@ben_lubar Any language that looks like someone slammed their head into the keyboard isn't a language worth learning.
-
@raceprouk That's a bit harsh on Finland.
-
@boner Not Welsh?
-
@raceprouk You can never be too harsh on the Welsh.

And thus, the lone Perl programmer on the forums wept in the corner...

In my vast experience i have found a firm
gropegrip, carefully applied, to be quite efficacious in curing incidents of erectile dysfunction.

Under the original "Sustainable Zoom-Zoom"
I love it. It's as if they hired the CEO's hyperactive 4 year old grandson as a business analyst and then had the marketing team struggle to make the best out of it.
"Here at Mazda, we've fully dedicated ourselves to our vision of Sustainable Zoom-Zoom. In the past five years, we've reduced our carbon emission footprint by 80 percent, so that the car can go vroom without any puff-puff. Car safety has also been improved, with a massively reduced incidence rate of ouchies and owies, and absolutely zero incidents of cars going boom."

@maciejasjmj The Mazda TV commercials always had "zoom zoom" at the end. It's kinda Mazda's thing.

Not anymore: they've dropped that slogan in favour of just making up words.
