CANREPRO
on Opera mobile.
-
Can also reproduce this in Chrome 58.0.3029.110 on Windows 10 x64.
-
Is this related to the fix for the disappearing progress bar?
-
-
tends to stay stuck when opening another topic as well
-
Repro on Pale Moon 27.3 on Linux. I think we can safely assume this isn't a few people hallucinating. :D
-
also the navbar stays and manually selecting an index from the main page gets you to https://what.thedailywtf.com/undefined/undefined/6
-
Probably a side effect of the change upstream made to fix the navigation elements perma-dying if you navigate to the categories page.
Regression testing, how does it work?

Dunno. We got banned from Discourse...
-
mobile is not different

Chrome bug then,
E_WONTFIX
-
Just reproduced here as well.
According to , I'm currently in "alloca() is hard...", which is in the bug category.

Together!
That should be a game...
-
I was reading "Re: Re: Re: Bigly list of things that were true 30 years ago, but not today" and somewhere along the scrolling, near the end, the title changed to "Random thought of the day".
Scrolling back up for a while fixed it. Scrolling back down didn't change the title once again.

On desktop, the topic's progress bar sticks around too...

Methinks yes. It doesn't disappear anymore, even when it should...
-
Vivaldi latest, Windows 7 64-bit:

Ummmmm..............................................

I just had it happen and when I noticed it, it was a completely unrelated progress bar
The thread whose title got stuck has 400+ posts, not 10
It looks like the progress bar gets updated when you go into different topics, and sticks around on the topic list, while the title just stays stuck.
-
For a moment I thought @Izzy was posting random stuff in a mafia thread
-
Interestingly, if you go back to
https://what.thedailywtf.com/?loggedin=true
, the title does disappear
-
-
@pjh it doesn't look like their board has the sticky title at all. Was that something we built from whole cloth for TDWTF, or was it a core NodeBB option that we simply enabled?
-

I believe it was

@ben_lubar added it here:
The fix for this must have broken it:
-
The issue appears to be, when going back or using the home link at the top, the
<span>
that holds the title isn't being hidden or unloaded. Thankfully, the fix is simple enough:
-
@raceprouk With your fix, does the title update when you enter a new topic?
-
@hungrier Setting the title is done by NodeBB itself
-
@raceprouk Right, but when the old title was hanging around, it wasn't doing it.
-
@hungrier Then that's a separate bug
-
@raceprouk To me that's the more important part of it. Having some topic title over the topic list isn't that bad, but seeing a topic with a different topic's title displayed is confusing. Maybe your fix automagically fixed that anyway, if the always-there topic title only updates to the current topic if it's empty.

VERY Sticky...

It seems to me to be way more sticky on desktop than on mobile.

The title keeps getting blank now
-
-
@ben_lubar where do we stand on this? Still seems broken to me.
If I enter a topic that has a small number of posts, such that the OP is fetched, the title will show.
If I enter a topic that has a large number of posts, such that the OP is not fetched, the title won't show. If I use the progress bar to go back to the OP, the title comes back. If I page down such that the OP is unloaded, the title is still there. If I use the progress bar to go to any post such that the OP is unloaded, the title goes away.
If I enter a topic from the categories page, no matter how large the topic is, the title is shown. Using the progress bar makes it go away again, as described above.

I think we should take out @RaceProUK's fix and try to work out exactly what's happening
