How do you handle WTF jobs on your resume?

  • Like everyone else on the TDWTF, I've had my shares of WTF jobs.

I was curious to see how others handle these jobs on their resume.  Do you leave them off?  If you leave them off, what do you tell the interviewer when they ask about the missing time gap?  Do you gamble and list it and genlty exaggerate what you did and hope that the previous employer won't rat you because they fear you might sue them?

  • I list the places where I worked and that's all. No need to waste time saying that the places where you worked are WTF'y. If they are WTF'y enough to be famous for it, you'll still be fine as long as they aren't the majority of the places where you worked. And you can tell an interviewer that you quit those places exactly because of the WTF's.

  • Hi,

Justifying a gap is a very crucial topic but i may suggest you there are plenty of good legitimate reasons for the gap. (education, pregnancy, self employment, travel etc.) So, no employer will just throw out a resume for no good reason. They are trying to find the talent to fill a position. Why waste a talent because of a silly, non-productive policy? But never, NEVER cover up or lie about something. If you are caught at it Especially do not omit it in the application. I have never signed a resumé and I doubt most sane people have as well.  However, there is usually some application that I have to fill out and sign.
