Do as I say, not as I do.

    Yes, I got the mp3.
    (The finished state was just a not-so-impressive hyperlink; that barber pole is prettier)

    I can't decide whether the people behind that site are really incompetent or really clever.

  •  Even better than that, I did first one successfully, now it seems to be not working at all. But they give you some helpful instructions on how to get around it right at the bottom...

  •  Might I suggest the following...

    1) Get the 'Easy YouTube Video Downloader' addon for firefox.

    2) Download video

    3) Feed it to MediaCoder and convert it to whatever you want (mp3 included).

    4) ???

    5) Profit (or at least lol at YouTube's pointless attempts to keep its videos to itself).

    You are my hero.

  •  I prefer aTube Catcher because:

    1) Not tied in with the browser

    and

    2) Built in ffmpeg support

  •  I just grab videos straight from /tmp. Let's see you try and patch that vulnerability, Google!

  •  You can also add a new bookmark in your firefox with this url:
javascript:if(document.location.href.match(/http:\/\/[a-zA-Z\.]*youtube\.com\/watch/)){document.location.href='http://www.youtube.com/get_video?fmt='+(isHDAvailable?'22':'18')+'&video_id='+swfArgs['video_id']+'&t='+swfArgs['t']}
The movie will download at highest quality possible in mp4 format :).
