That page is like 90% ads. I had to scroll down about two and a half pages to get to the first sentence of the article.

You don't need an adblocker. I just have NoScript and didn't have any ads in my way.

I don't see a problem. I just hash (and salt, naturally) that shit anyway, could be a copy-paste of a Dwarf Fortress screen for all I care

As long as the user can input it, it's good. If they want to make their own life miserable, whatever. (However, I really want to be able to log in with a cryptotoken that is stored securely on my machine. I'll use the password to unlock that, since then I'm not relying on the remote site to keep their security from being hacked…)

Incidentally, there's a new Web Authentication API (aka FIDO 2.0) in the process of being added to all popular browsers, and already available on Edge:
Yeah, public key authentication is easy to implement. What's not easy is solving the problem of "how the fuck do I sign in to that website on another computer?", and it doesn't seem like they have done that. So... no thanks.

Surprisingly – and if it’s not surprising to you, you may want to change your password – passwords like “123456” and “password” are very common.
It's not surprising to me. Does that mean I have to change my password, even though it's auto-generated and something like
