I was browsing stack overflow today and run into this gem: How can I use credit card numbers containing spaces?
I would just ignore the post, but this one was strange... asked by a guy with 11k reputation points? His profile says: "An engineer working in Java SE security for Sun." Now I'm really, really worried about Java security.

I took a look and saw what you mean. Then I looked at a few more of his questions and one of them was posted with a comment along the lines of "I know what the answer is, but I want it posted as a SO question". In that same question the top reply was from Jon Skeet who alluded to knowing Tom Hawtin fairly well. So I can only guess that Tom is a SO reputation whore!
