@ben_lubar ...and? A reading of that would make it seem as though it would still be free for our use? But perhaps not free for NodeBB to include in core? Is that correct?

Our old 2.3 emoji artwork is still valid under the same Creative Commons license as before.

Just like the onebox link text, they also broke their entire repository layout.

3.0 requires an attribution on every single page they are displayed on. 2.3 does not. We do not need bleeding-edge emoji...

We still have the emoji, but the plugin assumes that the metadata is on the master branch. Just a sec, fixing.

The emoji images are in a git submodule, so they don't get updated without permission. The metadata is downloaded using a JavaScript script from one of the plugins.
