Microsoft hasn't found out about tinyURL yet... or rewrite rules either.

Last week I received an update to the Action Pack subscription, and together with the usual CDs, folders, leaflets and stuff, there was this questionnaire form, which had to be completed online. Please take a look at the URL printed on it. At least they admit to be sorry for it! :D
...and yes, if you're wondering, I actually typed that URL to submit the questionnaire. <blink>I got it right at the 3rd try :)</blink>

You're right, they have their own URL redirection service, but apparently who does the surveys is not aware of that :)

In Soviet Russia, long URLs are sorry for Microsoft.

I would normally do surveys like that, but when I saw the URL, it just went in the bin. Life's too short.

It probably doesn't work on non-Microsoft domains. Microsoft doesn't own SurveyMonkey.

I know your kind, sir. Oh, yes i do. You're the kind of people who make absolutely everything in Excel, the kind of people who sends 40MB mails and doesn't understand "why it's taking so long", the kind of people who double click links. Yes, you are. You made that survey, and you didn't bother to ask anyone about the procedure; because you "already know", because "it's easy", because "everybody does this way".
Ladies, gentlemen, you can't explain to this person what an url redirection service is. Most likely, the flyer/questionnarie/leaflet/whatever was made in Excel as well. This person can just copy and paste stuff, and only from internet explorer into excel. Therefore, he just put "the survey url" there, and the apologies came from his marketing wisdom plus his experience and knowledge of the coustmers: a criteria similar to "people like apologies" or "apologies are good". Once a problem is noted, the better course of action is to not solve it; everybody knows that.
(Sorry, you marketing people! I just wish you all burn in hell!)

Maybe it's a psych experiment to see how many people will type in a URL that long.
