Coming Soon ... The New New TDWTF!
-
Community Server 1.0 has been released and I'm currently in the process of evaluating it and trying to build a skin based around the new logo. There's some features I still need to add to the base software before going live:
>> Sort by First Post date (essential for the RSS feed)
>> RSS Comments feed
>> Expand Anonymous comments to be more like .TEXT (allow Name, URL with a Remember Me)But so far, from what I can tell, it's a lot cleaner software, runs smoother, and should really be a good thing for us all. So that leads me to the next question ...
What other improvements would you like to see? Should the General Discussion forum be expanded into sub-categories? Things like that, that are easy to do with the admin software ...
Thanks! I look forward to hearing your thoughts / replies.

Re: Comming Soon ... The New New TDWTF!
Perhaps a link in the forum 'path' to the main page?
<FONT size=1>The Daily WTF</FONT> » <FONT size=1>Forums</FONT> » <FONT size=1>General Discussion</FONT> » <FONT size=1>Comming Soon ... The New New TDWTF!</FONT>
What's the difference between the first 2 bits? Maybe if you can get the first one to point to the homepage, that would be cool.

Looking forward to the new forum software (I think! God knows it can't get any worse!)
Things I'd like to see (in no particular order):- Non-broken quoting
- No more microscopic fonts
- Ability to edit your posts, perhaps with an "edited" indicator so
that when the replies don't make sense, we can tell that the post was
edited.
And, the kicker: - All of the above working regardless of browser type (assuming it's a
recent browser, etc etc.. Yes, I pretty much mean it works in FireFox
as well as in IE.)
- Non-broken quoting

it works in FireFox as well as in IE.
Notice! No mention of "Mobile" support!

So what was before Community Server?

before
Dunno, I don't think we have anything that was imported from "before".
