"URL" on a dinner check

  • I was out for dinner with a friend in Las Vegas this evening, and noticed that the bottom of the dinner check had a rather unusual URL on it:

Hi, I'm new on the forums, but not to the site.

  • If not for the backslashes, I'd say there's a have a new protocol.

Shouldn't this've been the first line?

The capitalization of His does suggest bear worship...

They obviously used LaTeX to format the check and for some reason put the URL inside a verbatim environment. Those backslashes are supposed to be a linebreak.

  • Am I the only one who read it as ,,Black Beard Diner" ? Ah, what a possibilities. I picturize infamous captain Edward ,,Blackbeard" Teach, avoiding the gallows and opening a pirate diner.
Then, the disappointment. Although the diner for black bears sounds cool too.

That's an interesting way to type quotes.

Edit: I found the past thread explaining it.  Nevermind Carry on!

I read it as "black beard in 'er" which could open up even more possibilities: "What is she doing with THAT inside her‽"
