Spam not in Forum but in RSS

Why The Fuck (WTF) is the forum free of spam, but the RSS-Feed is not?

I believe it's called "moderation."
(Meaning: moderators read the RSS feed and delete the spam topics before you see them.)

Google killed Google Reader because RSS is obsolete. Maybe you did not get the memo because nobody sent it on their RSS feed. Also dead: Gopher and Usenet.

I don't know about Gopher, but Usenet is still alive and well and a lot bigger than you think. Almost no ISPs offer Usenet access anymore so a lot of people probably think it went away. But there are LOTS of companies out there who have been in business for quite some time charging anywhere from $10 to $25 a month for access. Every now and then I'll spend $10 and sign up for a month just to check things out. The sheer amount of stuff on there is quite surprising. Most of the major providers now have retention in the neighbood of 5 years, probably hundreds of millions of files total in all the various "binaries" groups..

However in the last 1-2 years there has been a lot of indexers that went down (like Newzbin), and searching usenet without a decent indexer is tedious as hell. And even if you manage to find something interesting, usenet providers are constantly hit with takedown notices and by the time you start downloading the movie has usually already been pulled.
Nowadays the best choice IMHO is Easynews; they have a very advanced search-and-download form and you can get the whole movie at once instead of downloading parts and rebuilding them with Newsleecher, Quickpar and 7-zip or Winrar. But there are a lot of takedowns, even for tv shows, so I kinda gave up.

Actually why Google killed Reader instead of showing ads or taking money (which I would have effin paid) is probably the least mysterious thing here. Because they thought all the people would now get their news on G+ (which needs all the starting help it can get) - just like your newspaper and they'll spam your wall with what would normally be a finely grained and pre-sorted news aggreagation. That nearly nobody went for that is because a) most layouting choices of G+ are pretty but completely unreadable and unusable (somebody want a rant?) and b) not all RSS-source are or will be on G+. I for one switched to Feedly. My mobile reader (GReader for Android) actually added Support for that, so no real changes for me...

I never thought Newzbin was all that great. One of the best is Supersearch from Newsleecher, but he jacked the price way up and it's just not worth it any more. That's one thing I haven't noticed. I've never had a problem downloading anything, and I've got a super slow shitty Internet connection. Once a year I'll go in for a month and find a couple of obscure movies or TV shows. That's about all it's good for now.

For a while I was downloading the latest episodes of a few tv shows (Californication, Supernatural, etc) because I hate tivo and hate even more commercials, but for some of these shows it was a weekly race against takedowns, which usually show up in hours or minutes, so it's too much work. I know I could hack something with tv tuners but it is also tedious, so now I wait until the whole series is available on Xbox video.

If you don't need binaries, individual.net offers Usenet access for 10€/year.

There are still some of the old comp.* groups going, and they still have intelligent discussions and interesting technical content. Really. In fact, they're probably improved by requiring a few braincells to access; the spam and troll levels are really low now that all the scum have migrated to Facebook and Twitter.
