Star Trek Enterprise's Problem

  • <FONT size=3><FONT face="Times New Roman">I have seen every episode of the first four series. I have all the dvds of all the seasons. However, i didnt watch <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Enterprise</st1:City></st1:place> when it started, and the couple times i tried to watch, i never finished them. However, i recently purchased them all (from www.www.dvdsetshop.com, the price is reasonable), and ive started watching them all. Im just finished with the first season, and i think i know what its problem is. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT><o:p><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3> </FONT></o:p><FONT size=3><FONT face="Times New Roman">Number One is that it is just not that exciting of a show, and it takes itself too seriously. (too much emphasis is put on how this is the first time for everything) Second, there is enough light hearted humor, and the actors struggle when humor is attempted. But most of all, unlike TNG, DS9, and VOY, there are no sub-plots. Almost every episode focuses on the main conflict, and nothing else. This makes the episodes drag a little. With that said, you will all be glad to know that im finally hooked on all of the series of star trek.<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT>

I'm deeply sorry to inform you that I do not feel the emotions you prefer me to feel; the gladdening is absolutely minimal. :)

I disliked Enterprise for the reasons you describe. I also began to dislike voyager after a while. I loved DS9 because I'm a sucker for larger stories that transcend episodes.

  •  Oh, awesome!  We can discuss the problems of television shows that haven't been on the air in years?  Do we have to do it in a big, bold font, or is that a personal choice?  Oh, well, just to be on the safe side:

<font size="3"><font face="times new roman, times">The problem with The Honeymooners is that while Ralph was always threatening Alice with domestic violence, he never followed through on it.  Those sorts of empty threats lead to a lack of fear and respect, which are the foundation of any good marriage. </font></font>

  • Pop quiz hot shots:

    This post is:

    1. An attempt to start the "über Geek" thread of the century.

    2. A "subtle" spamming technique for an online dvd shop.

    3. It is real and the OP is a walking stereotype.

    4. It is fake and the OP is a bully that will trace the IP of everyone who posts on this thread to start his mass wedgie campaign.

    5. There has to be an odd number of possible answers.

  • One of these days, pesto, POW! Right in the kisser!

    This was my first impression.

Well, if it was a spam attempt, the least he could do is get the URL right.

Evidently the least he can do is get the URL wrong, pesto.  QED.

Oh, no.  I think he can do much, much less.

<font size="3"><font face="Times New Roman"> I have recently watched some episodes of Enterprise. I did not enjoy them that much, however, I did find that Vulcan chick to be pretty hot. With that said, you will all be glad to know I am finally over my hang-ups about inter-alien relationships.
