What happens if you point out nudity in a game? (Watch Dogs 2/PS4)
-
You get banned off the game's network.
When the one-week ban was then made public, they upped it to a month
When Ms. Striesand's appearance was noted, they rescinded the ban, but still claims he was breaching ToS
And the image that started it all off?
NSFW.

Of course, feel free to share screenshots of yourself stabbing random strangers in the neck and shooting them in the head. 17+-year-olds can handle that. A vajajer, though? There's no way a 17-year-old's even seen one!
-
Saw this yesterday. Completely ridiculous.
The game's awesome, though. And despite it being a Ubisoft game, I didn't find any major glitches in the first 2 days. The only problem is that they are delaying the seamless multiplayer. :/
-
Posting a picture on TWITTER gets you banned from PSN?
Why the fuck do they care what people share on their twitter accounts?
-
This is indeed ridiculous, but why in the first place is there such a graphic? I mean, judging from the snapshot, it's not a visual glitch that exposes a badly-located surface that is skin-colored (such as some of the first "naked" mods for some games, that were just the most tight-fitting clothing item in a skin color, nothing more), it's really a detailed drawing. So that means there was a developer who actually did that on purpose. Why, why, why?

because they thought it funny adding that easter egg to that model.
because they could?

<hat type="tinfoil"> They knew that things like the GTA Hot Coffee easter egg generated a lot of controversy, which increased media coverage and therefore sales </hat>

@Jaloopa
I can very totally see that.:man1:: we need to come up with some way to increase sales among 18-29 year old boys, so that when we put in advertising via a future "DLC" patch, we can make the megabuxx
:man2:: I know! Let's put a real vaj in there, boys will flock to the forbidden fruit!
:man1:: starts counting his bonus

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.
I'm pretty sure some graphic artist had some fun and thought nobody would ever find out.

They probably posted it directly to social from their console via Sony's network.

Because there's deliberate nudity (NSFW) elsewhere in the game apparently.
I get the impression the breach of ToS was posting it before some embargo, since I think he got a version before he should have.

Oh. I see.

Well, the post you've linked indicate that the alleged breach of ToS was on sharing nudity (which is, in that case, a direct screen-shot of the game, so that makes the decision halfway between stupid and hypocritical), and that he got the game early due to some error, not due to him explicitly agreeing to it (and seeing that he refers to "Watch Dogs early release threads on [Twitter]", it looks like he's not the only one and the editor is not so keen on blocking these...).
Nothing much to save the editor here, I'm afraid.
-
@PJH This is disturbing, because, essentially a PSN ban means they're taking your games away, that you purchased.

Are you sure? Even those you already downloaded to your console and which are not tied to your PS Plus subscription?

Look at that Twitter picture.
Then realize that they probably spent hundreds of man-hours painstakingly modeling a realistic looking vagina.
And then look at the character's face, and realize that's the best they could do.
:/
-
@Lorne-Kates I keep staring at that ass, trying to figure out WTF is going on with that model. Does her butt just hang down halfway to her knees? What's going on?

, but I'm certain that wouldn't stop the image from loading in the background, so is probably not the way do do it for that sort of thing.Defanging the onebox as you did (and as I did in the OP of https://what.thedailywtf.com/topic/21139/nsfw-anyone-want-a-brangelina-memorial-waxwork-scuplture) is the safest way.

If you go directly to the Twitter link it warns you and doesn't display the image until you say "View content". Does our onebox not do that? Because that seems foolish.

The image is hosted on Twitter. Unless your I.T. department randomly checks Twitter images you visit, the potential for getting in trouble would mainly be if someone happened to look over your shoulder and saw it.
And the filenames for Twitter images are randomly generated, so it's not likely the URL would set off red flags. Unless they're deep-inspecting pages for keywords like "nudity", in which case, you probably shouldn't have visited this topic... or the topic list...

Probably. Most stuff marked NSFW on here is probably, while not benign, not a fireable offense.

Ed The Sock and LianaK are doing a livestream now. They're talking about how much different the Drake games swinging segments would be if he was accurately modeled.

I thought those kinds of easter eggs were limited to bad-dragon and primal hardware (NSFW!) and the like?
