Where to buy karaoke tracks from?
-
I'm going to a Karaoke party around Christmas. I've browsed through the host's music collection and it's so far-- ah-- underwhelming. Looks like "Ye Old Generic CDs That Came With The Machine".
They said I can provide my own CDs if there's anything I wanted to sing.
Is there any sort of official "go to" website people use to get versions of songs that are compatible with Karaoke machines-- presumably there's a special file format so the lyrics show on the screen?

Do they have digital capabilities? That gives you more options.
These brands have decent options and quality:
Party Tyme Karaoke
Pop Hitz Monthly
Billboard

Not sure. I'll ask tonight.
And thanks for the source recommendations!

Had to ask my husband for more:
sound choice
Chartbusters
DK
Sunfly
Legend Series

I was going to suggest http://www.karaoke-version.com/ but they apparently don't do tracks for actual machines, just mp3s and so on.

I bet it has a button with 'Best Seen with IE6' on it.

To be clear: that also rules out FF22

I remember making my own CD-Gs, sadly I don't have the software that made them anymore though (because lack of machine to really makeuseof them).
I think I used software similar to this:
The trick was using CDRs, not trying to test with CD-RWs (because raisins).
Edit: And you had to have specific burners, though it might be less of an issue nowadays etc.
But as far as buying tracks...
Seems these links may help.
