SuperCAPTCHA

  • Todays μWTF: The iPix (a Lithuanian Imageshack-like service) registration page uses animated CAPTCHAs, like this:

    Animated CAPTCHA

(Okay, maybe this should be in Funny Stuff.)

  • I agree this is a wtf

  • Well, that makes me go "WTF?!".  I think that dancers have a language for describing choreography.  That would allow them to type something more concise than "a 4 crosses slowly on stage left, a 0 enters quickly on stage right, in between a 3, 1, 2, and 4 cross from the rear to the front with the 1 and 2 going fastest and the 4 going slowest until the scene finishes with the two 4's on stage".

    FTFY

  •  (moved to Funny stuff, though it's not really funny either ... )

  • TRWTF: you have to enter the digits in the order they appear onscreen?

  •  If I am ever tasked with building a website designed to help people identify if they've just taken too much acid, this captcha is going on the "Request More Information" form for sure...

  • I would guess "431240" is the correct answer, but it isn't really clear if that is how it is supposed to be done or not, some people might think it is a different way that it is supposed to be done, and I don't know what the correct way is. Also you can't see all the numbers at once so you have to watch the animation twice. (I just checked now and it turns out I am correct. Even if the other fields aren't filled in, it will tell you whether or not the CAPTCHA is filled in correctly or not. Still, the numbers are badly timed, in my opinion (in your example, the 0 is too early and fast, for one thing, but maybe the bad timing is supposed to stop the computer from figuring out the answer by itself?). With better timing, it would be easier to enter the correct answer.)
