TODO list: Book a hotel room, make a time machine, ...

  •  Hotel bookings

  • How far can you get before the site recognises that there is a problem?

www.thetrainline.com sometimes does something similar (defaulting to the next hour most of the time, and the previous midnight after 11pm), but it complains as soon as you press return if you select a time in the past.

In the next step you get a valid date-picker ;)

At www.db.de (Deutsche Bahn, english: http://www.bahn.de/international/view/en/index.shtml), it's possible to look up connections in the past. I like this. Don't ask me why, but I do think it's quite handy sometimes. The results listing shows "Connection is in the past" instead of a booking price.

Which could be really handy if your wife was questioning you about where you were (when you were with that prostitute from Amsterdam).  You could say "look hun, I was at this hotel in Germany on a business trip!"  Handy tool indeed!@

  •  The real WTF is the list of limitations.  They must make a lot of money on people who are refused service without a refund because they cancelled only two days in advance, showed up 65 minutes late, are 36 years old, booked only one day, pay with a credit card that morning, etc.  Also, the terms leave it open that they can not only fail to provide the dormitory size you asked for, but charge you more for it if it's bigger!
