Well, by "handled" I assume you mean "Many people know about it, but nobody's yet been willing to hack into the codebase to try and fix it properly"... ;)

@Tsaukpaetra the "blank page at the end of some topics" isn't even the same bug... that's an actual off-by-one bug in pagination (and it's been around for a while); the one I complained about in my pagination thread turned out to be not actually a pagination problem but a post-count problem, where it's counting the wrong number of posts in the thread for some reason.
