Thanks, pedantic dickweed, but you know what I meant. She used a word that meant "for all time", regardless of what that exact word was, that's why the statement was a lie.
If this isn't the pot calling the kettle black, I don't know what is.
Also, since everyone else all agree with the same opinion, I shall voice the opposition (@boomzilla LOVES when I do this)!Suck it up, work on the weekends and rack up your 100 hours/week of unpaid overtime, and be thankful they don't fire you for your insubordination.
The shittiest part of this post is that there are lots of people who actually believe it, and think like that. Generally they're the people who have never had to do a day's worth of serious work in their life.
Because it bogs down after you keep adding your zip files to it?
One could also use Lua. There exist Lua bindings for Objective-C, although they're mainly used by game developers.
Either one of those real programming languages would have made things far easier.
Also, please correct for the "you have to use Apple to code for iOS" thing, because that's a huge factor I think you aren't considering. A lot of people have Apple machines, do development on Apple machines, but PURELY to get access to a lucrative mobile market-- and they hate their dev environment with a passion. I personally know at least 3 people in this bucket.
Only if we can correct for the "Has to use Windows at work because the IT department forces them to" factor. I personally know at least half a dozen people in this bucket, who'd rather use *nix or Mac. Including myself.

So are you gonna pay my rent while I look for another job? No? Then stop spewing this bullshit.

Cause I enjoy having a place to live and food to eat.
The ones who were banned, especially FatPeopleHate, were ones that had started leaking all over the site. It's one thing if they stay in their area, and no one else has to know about it. It's another if, even in completely unrelated subs and their comment sections, you constantly see that kind of thing.
I think the point is that, if the people claiming "critical discourse" of your works were surrounded by thousands of people calling for you to be raped, killed, and any other unpleasant things to happen to you, you'd probably just ignore the whole lot. And I can't say I blame anyone for doing just that.
And I don't think this is right. Otherwise anybody with controversial views would win their discussions by default, because there's got to be a lot of brainless shouting going on.
Then tell the shitheads to shut the fuck up. As long as you're here saying, "It's ok, we can just ignore them," you're demanding that other people deal with their shit, and you're tacitly endorsing it. If you feel the GG side of things is sooooooo important, then reduce the noise ratio, and get the shitheads making threats to shut up.
It's not terrible, if it's just a block, as opposed to every line. But at the same time, that data is already in your VCS logs, assuming you mark what ticket number you were working on in the logs.
It can definitely fit with a "Why" when commenting a block of code, but I don't know if every single change warrants it.

Well. Except that his apartment almost certainly came with a fridge, so you can't really credit him (in $, that is) for not using it--it's not like he can sell it, because it's not his. Ditto the stove. (Unless he was dealing with an entirely unfurnished apartment, which seems unlikely.)
The fridge, not necessarily. At least in the Orange County area, I've had several apartments that did not come with fridges (although you could rent one from the property company).
The reality of this whole debate, is that people will only listen to your arguments, if you yell louder than the shitheads that pretend to be for your cause and act stupid. That's a very hard thing to do, and that's why we can't have good things.
Like, seriously, that's not even a joke that time. It is literally why we can't have good things.
I will agree wholeheartedly with that. However, it's not anyone's responsibility except for GG to make it easier to find the relevant, non-rape threat stuff.
I didn't, I said that there are good people speaking under the hashtag with good points that are getting drowned out by stupid people.I know what the good people's claim is, and I just stated it.
Not rocket science here.
People aren't paying attention to any of the good points because you have to wade through a mountain of toxic shit to get anywhere near anything halfway decent. It's honestly not worth it.
Basically, it's a "women are worse off in the Middle East" kind of argument. Which is not the most valid argument in all cases, but is not entirely without a merit.
That argument is entirely without merit. How women are treated in the Middle East is entirely fucking irrelevant. We live in a goddamned civilized nation. This kind of behavior is completely fucking unacceptable, full stop.
If GG wants to be seen as something other than a mysoginistic hate group that threatens women with violence in order to silence them, then maybe they had better police themselves better.
And I don't think this is right. Otherwise anybody with controversial views would win their discussions by default, because there's got to be a lot of brainless shouting going on.

You are free to wade through the mountain of triceratops droppings to find the poison berry all you want. Most people, however, have a limit to how much bullshit they will tolerate, and once that's exceeded, will simply turn off the fountain.

From the point of view of the company, they hired a development firm.
