You have got to be shitting me... links stop being links?
-
I bet that this is related to their "fix" for allowing you to highlight links! You know, the one where if you finish selecting text with your cursor over the link then you wouldn't get the Quote Reply button? It seems to me that this started happening about the time they "fixed" that issue.
-
Hey now, don't be so harsh. Dontcha know that
~43k/month will fund discourse?
-

The fuck?
-
I'm confident that kind of spending will result in discosauce going out of business before the ten year plan is realized.
-
Flarum does sound an awful lot like Discourse. With a shitter name.
-
I'm confident that kind of spending will result in discosauce going out of business before the ten year plan is realized.
Let's hope so.
-
Oh. That didn't mean that we would stop using discourse. Just that it would be basically the same as what happened to community server, except discoursized.
-
This one seems to have been accepted as an actual bug. I'm surprised.
-
They don't know what the fuck they're doing.
My understanding is that instead of trapping the click event, they're trapping the
mouseDownmouseUp, then swapping out the href so that you don't actually navigate when the click event fires since they now can't just do a preventDefault().Because they're fucking retarded.
-
Mouseup
-
Fixed
-
If it is a regression, though, we should try to figure out which commit regressed it
it's not a regression since this has never happened in the past. It is a brand new bug within the last few days
Right, what I'm saying is, this used to work. In that case we should try to un-regress it
Am I being an idiot, or does Jeff not understand the meaning of "regression"?
Might explain the number of them fi he doens't even know what he's looking for
-
including three-finger click for the middle mouse button
For some reason I can only see ways where this goes wrong, like actually registering two-one resulting in right-click -> open context menu -> left click on an item in the context menu.
-

I don't think so. That got fixed a while ago.
-
Sam is fucking incompetent
Let's hope so.
Because they're fucking retarded.
I think its time for a self ban.
-
.... wow. that looks so much worse when quoted out of context like that.
do we really sound that.... evil?
-
I think its time for a self ban.
Those of us who carry over reports to meta.d try and not be as insulting, but the way that link tracking is handled seems like a poor design.
-
but the way that link tracking is handled seems like a poor design.
Fine, it could be, perhaps there is a better way. There is a ton of history around the link tracking code, a lot of people tried fixing it up, bugs with middle click, ensuring on hover links look right and so on. We are more than happy to accept PRs the fix it and I will look at the most recent of the bugs here myself.
That said, wishing us out of business and calling us retarded cause of a bug seems slightly on the harsh side and is the last thing I should be reading with my morning coffee.
It really made me feel shitty.
-
It really made me feel shitty.
Fair enough and sorry about that; we aren't exactly friendly (toward anyone). Also, didn't realize you were one of the down unders.
-
I'm sorry, but how does a bug like this end up in a production product? Call me an asshole if you want, but I'm not going to apologize for what I said, because I believe it's true.
If you don't want the heat, maybe think about, possibly, testing code before releasing it? Maybe? So there aren't 47 new bugs daily? Just a thought.
-

To be honest, many of us have been wishing CDCK out of business for a while, over numerous issues. You can't pin this all on one bug.
-

If you want a stable forum you'd better just ask @PJH to put us on the stable track but don't call out @sam for that.

That's in the realms of server administration. Of the sort I don't have (or necessarily want) access to.

@blakeyrat should be calling Higher Powers then.
-
Hmm. Someone won't be getting his 150% attendance badge any time soon then...
-
Ah - bugger - seems I'm late setting that badge up...
-
Ah - bugger - seems I'm late setting that badge up...
I was sorely disappointed when I looked at the badge list for confirmation and it wasn't there.
-
Try now?
-
-
Seems I may have just got there in time... By my reckoning, there'll be one badge awarded tomorrow, and me and Ben and one other the day after.
[postgres@lenovo ~]$ sql_tdwtf days # Posts read and days visited # Days visited SELECT count(*) as "Days visited", u.username as "User id" FROM user_visits v JOIN users u on u.id = v.user_id GROUP BY u.username ORDER BY count(*) DESC LIMIT 25 Days visited | User id --------------+------------------- 149 | blakeyrat 148 | PJH 148 | anonymous234 148 | ben_lubar 147 | dkf 146 | ChaosTheEternal 146 | sam 145 | Keith 144 | DoctorJones 143 | error 141 | Maciejasjmj 141 | cvi 140 | boomzilla 140 | Luhmann 139 | da_Doctah 138 | faoileag 138 | fatbull 135 | darkmatter 135 | loopback0 134 | Gurth 134 | RTapeLoadingError 133 | antiquarian 133 | reverendryan 129 | Zecc 129 | mott555 (25 rows) Elapsed: 0.27s Backup taken: 2014-10-14 10:45:30.353836

Actually, that might be if Ben hasn't been on since midnight - he might tick over tomorrow because his count will go up after he visits.
-

That would explain why the 100% attendance badge was awarded to him and @blakeyrat on the same day.
-
oh dear....
I liked him! He may have been a discodev but he was a cool discodev!
-
Driving Discodevs to (digital) suicide is a barrier to Discourse?

too [couplating] right!

-
So Discourse allows administrators to ban themselves? Doesn’t seem like a good idea...
-
Maybe I should give it a go, just to make sure it's not an anomaly...

Definitely.
-
What happens if we ban @system, does onepost explode?
-
I rather expect there's a lot of
user id > 0
in the code, and @system is id -1.#select id, username from users where id<1; id | username ----+---------- -1 | system (1 row) #

the evil ideas thread is over
just follow the column of black, oily smoke. can't miss it.
-
Since there is no@PJH said:

Since i’s possible to log in as @system, I doubt it...
-
I think most, if not all, of that got plugged.
-

Regardless of how many fingers you have on the trackpad, there's still only one click. At worst, it would fail to be recognized as a three-finger click and will instead do either a single right-click or a single left-click.
-
Unless it works on taps as well as clicks. You could easily have a two finger tap quickly followed by a one finger tap
-

You'd have to go out of your way to set up tap-to-click instead of the much more sensible click-to-click that the Mac trackpad uses.
-
So you're saying you'll ban @system for a week?
-
Nope. Not on a live system anyway...
There's enough bugs to be going around this side of the fence without me mucking around with stuff with "Do Not Touch" on them in admin...
-
Coward.
