There was a train of thought that led from what you said to that image...
...actually, no there was a train of thought that led from what you said to somewhere else and that image hijacked it...
As a person who also has frequently random strings of thought, I understand. On more than one occasion I have had people ask me, "WTF made you think of that?"
I can usually trace it from incident, to songs playing in similar incidents, to that same song playing another time, where I had a conversation that led to something else, which made me think of...
It is usually easier to just say, "I don't know."

He's a serious Packers fan.
I got back from something and was reminded of the game in time to (1) go to Google and see it was 22-22 and then (2) turn on a live stream and listen to those last two blasted plays.Oh well.
(I don't really follow sports enough to pay too much attention, but if I were to root for a team it would probably be Steelers then Packers.)

Nor do I. But when the local team is in the playoffs, half the office comes to work wearing team colors, and our CEO is sending emails to the entire WA office taunting us about how his team is better than our team (wrong!), it's kind of hard not to notice.

My mom's a fan of the green and gold, but I'm more of a fan of the black and gold:

Didn't they get beat by the Detroit Lions?

I am not good at sportsing.

Gender impacts your rates. Males tend to pay higher rates, all else being equal.
In the UK (probably the whole EU), this is now illegal, despite making sense statistically.
The more expensive a vehicle is to replace or repair, the more expensive it is to insure.
Does that even apply to third party only insurance? I can see it would make sense for fully comprehensive or fire & theft, but when you're only insured for the liability to others I wouldn't have thought it would matter

That reminds me: I was once accused of being racist because I agreed with the AA that women should get cheaper insurance.Ah, Slashdot… the worst cesspit of humanity this side of /b/.

OK, I was going to say something about Slashdot, but this Discoquoting is funnier

You're wrong. They shouldn't get it cheaper just because they're women.

Last time I bothered to get a quote, which was admittedly a few years back, third party fire & theft was either more expensive than fully comprehensive on the same car, or so insignificantly cheaper than it didn't make sense to pick it.
I don't remember seeing third party only as an option in the entire 11 years I've been driving.
-

They didn't: they got it cheaper because statistically they have less accidents and smaller claims
-
TPO tends to be a decent amount cheaper for me, but not enough to make me want to lose the extra protection. TPFT to FC varies between negligible and twice as expensive (tends to be a lot more on bikes, whereas the car that cost 7 times as much as my bike, it would have been silly not to go for it)

You know what I mean.
A quick Google suggests that you can find statistics that prove either sex as the more dangerous one.
Men drive more on average, so it stands to reason they might crash more often regardless of other factors. There are too many variables to consider. From my own experience, based on friends and colleagues, the women are the ones who have had more crashes.

Yes, I do

I guess it depends on the country/region/time of day/phase of moon/summoning of Cthulhu.
Anyway, the brokers use their own claims data to work out risks, and groups like the AA use the brokers' data. While it's not perfect, it's a helluva lot better than Googling ;)

Brokers have larger datasets
Obviously, the brokers use many more factors than just gender to calculate premiums. But my argument is, if you're going to force brokers to disregard gender in some form of vote-winning 'equality' appeal, then why focus solely on gender lines? Surely discriminating by age is just as bad?
-

Huh, facts. You can use them to prove anything that's remotely true
-
It's all a moo point anyway considering it's not allowed.

moo point
It's mute point. You're not discussing it any more, so it's mute. Don't you know anything?

@dkf for the WHOOSH! -B

Whoosh?

Couldn't have put it better myself.

Add another to that

That looks like a confirmed badge then, irregardless of whether anyone else could care fewer

That hurt. And I'm not even a native speaker.

Whoosh for you too?

Flag denied: obvious troll is obvious

It's a whoosh point.
Actually maybe it's not a whoosh. I'm not sure anymore. But the fact remains: you're all idiots.

Thanks Blakey, that means a lot coming from you

Actually maybe it's not a whoosh. I'm not sure anymore.
Likewise. Glad it's not just me.

Actually maybe it's not a whoosh.
I suspect it's more to the pedantic dickweed end of things. ;)

Better than your fleetmates thinking you're in a Venture (mining frigate) when you're actually in a Vengeance (assault frigate) and gnawing on you as a result...

gnawing on
that's not a nice thing to do to an ally.
also spaceships are not for eating!

Unless they're made out of chocolate.
well yes, but then they would be less than ideal protection against the vacuum of space.
and that's not to mention missile fire....

Did Discourse eat the flags on this?
I've had PMs for newer flags but not this. Or is it being left until someone has time to award the badge?
@boomzilla @PJHEDIT2: Nevermind.

Hmm, needs to be highly resistant to all forms of attack… I'd guess you'd have to fall back on well-done steak then.

exactly. come back when it's made out of either swiss (or belgian) milk chocolate or, for preference, a rich dark chocolate
